Whats Wrong With My 05 R6??

Hey guys, yesterday while riding I noticed my bike (2005 Yamaha YZF-R6) sounded a little strange. It backfires a little more than the occasional "pop" when decelerating and it idles funny. Its very hard to explain but it just idles more ruff, it isn't smooth sounding anymore. I Have little to no experience diagnosing bike problems, but if this was happening on my truck I would check the spark plugs/wires.

Let my know your opinion!

Start the bike and leave a minute. Touch each of the downpipes, if one is cooler than the rest then a change is needed.

Is it cutting out or anything?

Oh very good advice thanks man! It hasn't been cutting out!

I have an 05 r6 and haven't had this problem. How many miles have you got on your bike?

It has about 17k on it now, the problems have gone away now haha

I think the main issue is that it's not a 05 636 lol jk. I would say the first thing I would check is the idle, timing and spark plugs

Could be a number of things. have you changed the exhaust lately? has it had a service lately ie, new plugs air filter oil and filter change?
