This is my Brand New 2014 Honda CTX 1300
Hey All,
The first day of Bikes, Blues and BBQ went ok, but there was a motorcycle accident on I-49 yesterday,http://5newsonline.com/2014/09/24/m...-rogers-motorcycle-wreck-man-lying-on-ground/ and now there is this news at: http://www.4029tv.com/news/one-killed-in-motorcycle-crash-in-benton-county/28253936 . There has been a rash of motorcycle accidents every time Bikes, Blues, and BBQ comes to town. Just to let you all know that. Every year it seems to be the same, and I think both accidents happened, and they were probably not wearing helmets. All of this could have been prevented, but it seems that until there is a motorcycle helmet law in this state, this will keep happening every year. Who knows how many more have to die before this state passes a helmet law.

I just cant support laws that try to protect me from myself
Hmmmm, well I guess it is a matter of personal opinion, but somehow, in this state, there seems to be so many accidents during Bikes, Blues, and BBQ. I just think if more people in this state would wear a helmet, including scooter riders, there would be less deaths during this event. This is only the 2nd day of it, and already 2 motorcycle wrecks.
Is there a lot of motorcycle accidents in your state Ragged? Here, I have seen way too many people get injured without a helmet on or get road rash. It probably will depend on the statistics. I appreciate your view point Ragged. Some laws are confusing, like here in Arkansas, where you can not lane split, but you have the option of wearing a helmet. If you want to, move to Arkansas Ragged while they still have a no helmet law. Who knows what it will be like after Bikes, Blues, and BBQ is finished. It does bring much needed economy to the surrounding areas, but it is a double edged problem because now, there will probably be a push for a helmet law on the ballot again, as well how Fayetteville has a noise ordinace even during this event. Cops are on Dickson street with decibel meters, ready and willing to give out tickets for revving the engines too loud at night. I am going to try and go there tonight and video tape it so you can see, and hear the sounds of it after midnight.

The reason I believe in the no helmet law is because it cant really affect me all that adversely. It gives me the freedom to choose, and if other people decide not to wear a helmet it cant really affect me...so theres really no harm done. If someone decides to not wear a helmet and dies from it...well they accepted that risk when they chose to do it, so thats their own doing.
We have a alot of motorcycle deaths here, for the most part equal to or more than Arkansas by a few. Your right though alot of laws dont make since, so I try to treat them all with a healthy disregard ;)
That noise ordnance stuff is BS! They do that in Myrtle beach too, thats just them looking to cause people hassle. You would think with the amount of revenue it brings they could tolerate the noise for a few days. It would be cool if ya get some video :)

That is true. Yep, some laws do not make sense at all. :) Yeah, the noise ordinance is total B.S. but you will also see some cops along the street, with decibel meters. They are wearing the same color vest as my jacket in the video. You would think with as much revenue as this brings in every year, but the city passed the ordinance about 3 to 4 years ago when the pathetic excuse for a Fayetteville Mayor was in office named Dan Coody. LOL. I am now uploading a Day 1 of Bikes,Blues, and BBQ to my channel now. I hope it uploads soon, and does not take a day that it usually takes to upload now. I think you will see a few laws being broken on my way to the TV station, also, some other things like some "eye candy" off to my starboard quarter when I get near the train tracks, when I am behind a guy on a scooter with his baseball cap on backwards, of some girls in tight leather pants and jeans and a leather halter top. LOL :) I hope to see more maybe on Saturday. LOL

I look foward to seeing it :D

The problem with the no helmet law is how much head trauma injuries cost to deal with. GET THIS THRU YOUR HEAD people! My wife was a Medical Claims Manager of a large insurance company and a big part of her job was negotiating down hospital bills. Most insurance policies have a million dollar max payout. Crack your skull open (not to mention any other injuries) and you can tap out that million dollar bill in a couple weeks time. Then what?

We taxpayers take that bill up the ass because Medicare or Medicaid will pick up most of the tab that the claims negotiator can't wiggle out of. I would be all for a no helmet law if the rider would sign a waiver and wear a DO NOT SAVE MY ASS bracelet so the paramedics would legally have to let the rider lay there and drown in their own grovel.

Helmets don't eliminate all head trauma, but they do a great job eliminating the far majority of it. I'm talking full-face helmets, not those stupid novelty brain-buckets (that are not even DOT legal despite the false DOT stickers, lol).

I cant hear ya over the sound of my FREEDOM! lol, on a more serious note...I understand fully about how the cost of cleaning up my mess will affect taxes fractionally...I just dont care. The amount that anyone actually pays for my repair is minuscule, even added onto the yearly toll its hardly noticeable. Unfortunately, if we start outlawing things for those reasons motorcycles themselves would be high on that 'to go' list.

But either way, I do wear a helmet but even still if I crash I fully plan on needing a black bag, not a stretcher....Yall wont have to pay much for me ;)
