Hey Guys,

Been having a look at searching my Vids on the Toob. Nothing seems to come up even if i search the exact name of my Vids?
anyone know how to rectify this? should i put the same name in the description part as well? or is it just because not many people have seen my vids?

Cheers

Hmm ill try that, I just do basic tags for the bike and my gear, might have to go through and add tags to everything.
Cheers

I didn't go too crazy with my tags; my vlogs have the tags 'motorcycle (automotive class)' and 'motovlog' by default, plus one or two more tags according to the content of the video.

how long have they been uploaded for? results get better the longer they've been online (cache refreshing/catching up)

Some have been uploaded for a few months, most over a week, Even searching my name doesnt come up with any results for me :(

cant tell people to search my name on youtube or my vids etc

Put in the exact title name as a tag. Also look at Video Creators and Darral Eves on YouTube. They are certified by YouTube and have some great content.

@Ze German .... There may be something to this.....

I have you subbed..... You do NOT show up on my sub list, I can search your name and find you and the vids ... And when I am there it says I am subbed... But still not on sub list?

Also ... When I subbed you couple weeks back ... I had to type your name EXACTLY as appears ... Did not show up from a general search (though German was a big search I guess)

I would check your privacy/security settings or similar? ....

I'm on iPad at moment ... But pretty sure the laptop last night did also NOT show you subbed in list ... Only on your actual page it says I am subbed. Only mention this because sometimes PC will show extra stuff iPad won't...

Anyone else see him or not see him?

this is interesting, i just tried to search your name and it didn't came up, it should be on top as channel result. check your channel setting mate, hmm..

I've done a bit of research on this, here's a few ways to improve your search results:

  • Use tags. Be specific, don't use a million tags and make sure they're relevant
  • Make your video title tie in with your tags
  • Same with your description. A good length description with your tag keywords also helps

That used to be the case, but YouTube have made sure titles and keywords have far less importance than they used to.
