I got caught in a rain storm on friday. I should have put my camera in my pocket i guess but i didnt and now my camera has waterrrrrrrrr in it.. yaay lol

...

if anyone knows of anyone selling a drift hd GHOST could you please let me no, or a store that has a decent sale? anything ! Theres a meet up next weekend and i would like to film it ;(
 
Water in it just from in some rain? ... What happened? ..No rear hatch on or something else?

I've had mine in some VERY heavy rain , mounted on top of helmet and no dramas at all....

....

Is it just the condensation around screen or does the camera not start up or screen go weird? ...

No warranty left? ... Ask Drift about it online? ...

...

They supposed to be much more waterproof than a rain shower/storm !!! ... o_O

Yeeeeeeeeah, i may have left the backing at home. I wasn't really expecting rain lol I got it in rice right now.
 
Facepalm! ... Oh well.... Cover it right up with the rice though .. And if you have a warm windowsill during the day? ...

Des it power up and run at all though?

it will power on when i plug it into usb. but nothing works running off the battery
 
hmmm ... dead battery from water around contacts perhaps? ... know anyone with same cam that can lend you battery for few mins to test? .... check there is no water microdroplets around the camera terminals first obviously!

usb power on is a reasonable sign i think?!?

It could be salt on the connectors maybe?

I've had mine in proper down pours and never had an issue

I took it right apart and left it in the rice for the night and still no power. I have 2 extra batteries besides the one that was in the camera and they still wont turn it on. Im SOL right now it seems.
 
Also, when wet, turn off right away. Cover the bowl of rice (and camera - fully immersed) in Saran Wrap... keeps the extra humidity out ;) . Until you're sure all the moisture's out (usually 24 to 48 hours... or longer) don't turn it on >< ! Even pull the battery if you can ;) . I know it's too late for that now, but just some pointers for anyone else who experiences the same thing down the road :) .....
 
is this camera advertised as water proof/resistant? if so they should fix it...same thing happened to my Garmis GPS watch a few years ago condensation got under the face some how in a LIGHT rain and it ruined the battery, they fixed it for me as the device is advertised as water resistant.
 
Ummm ... Not when he went out with no rear cover on the camera ... They might get twitchy if they figure that out?!
 
Yeah it was my fault. I can say tho, i rode everyday with the backing off more or less because i used the mic port alot and the waterproof backing screw doesnt really screw all the way down but anyways, ive been in light rain before with the backing off and it didnt do anything to the camera. this was just stupid heavy rain that slaughtered us for 20 ish min. i can see why it doesnt want to work anymore :P haha
 
Ah no that's the worst.

I have an idea... buy an exact copy at your local store... return your broken one saying it was broken and you just want a refund? LOL

Alright that's a bit shady maybe don't do that.
