Do you think Moto-Vlogging is encouraging more motorbike users?

So heres a question for you chaps, do you think Moto-Vlogging and thus all the footage of crazy things happening is encouraging new people to start learning to ride themselves? Or are we such a niche bunch only we look this stuff up but then how has moto-vlogging grown so expediently in the last couple of years - is it just the availability of action-cameras?

Nah I think people ride because it's cheaper

Cams are very cheap now and they're becoming the 'norm'

Yeah i aggree.
With the price of petrol EVER on the rise, people are searching for ways to 'cut costs'. Wether it be Deisel car or Cheap Bike.

But with Cheaper Electronics and peoples THIRST to get themselves on the screen. Its kinda inevitable others want to get in on the action.
So for those Techno-Saavy riders, strapping a Camera to ya head, is just a part of the process, to a 'Modern day Riders' riding life.
Video being the mainstream now, where Pics were the Norm 10-20yrs+ ago.

IMO
> : )

1. Riders are more outgoing than cagers.
2. Riders ride for the immersive experience. Cagers go A-to-B.
3. Riders like to share the riding experience. Cagers have nothing to share.
4. Riders are part of a world-wide brother-sister hood. Cagers sit in their cages alone.
5. Riders share a common exhilarating experience. Cagers share their self-created traffic jams.

I think motovlogging has defiantly influenced many people to ride. The viewers see all the fun we have on the road and they want that too.

Action vlogging in general seems to be surely trending upwards. I think that more people who have already been riding are getting into the videography aspect. Its a good time to get into this community IMHO

I think you nailed it :)

Hmm I'm not so sure. We now have more reckless twats thinking that they are the Bees knees, they have a cacoon of fans around then who encourage it.

It's a great community but the bad ones are the ones that get remembered

But thats like anything in life.. The heroes (soldiers for example) are always forgotten and the evil (the school massacre etc) will always get all the media attention.

Entertainment can't be boring and if people reckon they can push the boundaries of the law and local authorities then so be it.. When they get caught me and you will be the ones laughing with our license still in our pockets.

As a new rider, and a new vlogger, yes. I started watching motovlogs a few years ago around the time I started driving and fell in love with motorcycles. All the motovlogs I watched had a strong influence on my decision to start riding, and now start vlogging as well.

Any videos that are related to riding encourage me to continue riding. Of course there are good and bad videos, but I like to watch both of them.
It teaches me the right or wrong in riding, it guides me to who I want to become. It's really great!

actually, motovlogging got me to finally transfer a license to a Japanese one (after about 7 years) Just started vloggin to show some friends some fun here :)

I started riding because of motovlogging around may-junish of last year. Found C2W's channel and the baron's channel and just had to start riding and vlogging shortly after I got my striple.

It's encouraging some new kids. More mature people aren't watching vlogs or at least not with the same attention maybe.

I'm 'more mature' .. And I try to get enough time to watch vlogs!! ... The whole span of attention thing though is.......

...... ZzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZzzzzzzzzzz

... snorx snort wassat!?!? :rolleyes::oops: ..... Yeah a bit of a problem sometimes! ;)

Hmmm. I dunno to be honest @Shirou

Most of the people in my 'circles' are over thirty to be honest. I don't know that many vloggers who are under 25 really.

I think it's definitely generational for viewer interest....

Some of the younger YT-ers in general.. Not just vloggers.... I find are vapid, laugh at some really weird non funny shit, whiny, limited world view .. Etc ..

Not saying they don't have any interest or followers .. But different attitude and thought process...

I think a lot of vloggers will 'generally' gravitate to those closer to their own generation and world view.... Up to a point anyway

I started watching motovlogs because i was looking for tips on how to operate my crotch rocket

then i decided to make videos to show people how easy it is to ride

now i make videos because i have no friends

i hope it attracts more people to ride
