I was thinking of ways to get a bit more traffic to my channel, as it's still really new the grind is real.. So I came up with a couple ideas:

1st was bumper stickers, putting some stickers with a channel link on to friends and families cars - but in truth who really ever see's a bumper sticker and thinks "you know what, ill check that out"

2nd idea was maybe getting a custom hoodie with the channel, logo etc, to wear over my jacket whilst riding.

I am by no means a marketing genius, so if anyone has tried either of the above and has any feedback i'd be interested to hear it - on that, just any ideas at all to help get the name out there!

The bumper sticker thing reminds me of a couple of times where stickers were noticable.

First is my kids' college. There are stickers cropping up on trash cans and pinup boards. They entertaining to look at.

Second is when @LoneWolfer @scooterwuf and I saw them on a pole for a UFO abduction site and again on a post in a National Park. We actually checked out one website and researched a saying on another website.

So stickers can be useful for attracting a small part of the population.

The BEST use of stickers I saw was a now huge motovlogger (I don't drop names). This motovlogger was small at the time. Below 1k subs small. They had a catchy sticker. Almost every video either showed them try to give the sticker to riders at a group ride, or talking how the sticker had quasi-magical powers and how you too could gain those powers buy sending a self addressed envelope and $3.95 to them at some address, or shots of them putting stickers in the mail to fans. It seemed to make a difference on spreading stickers out there.

Of course, hoodies are cool too. Outside of seeing someone wearing another channel's decorated clothing one or two times, I really have not seen much of that. I might not be looking close enough though.

Maybe I'll give the stickers a whirl then, I guess I can just order a handful and see what difference if any it makes giving them out at group rides and strategically placing them around my area / work place haha

Go for it!

I carry a few of my own with me for times when random people come up to chat. I use them like a business card after we talk a bit.

Worst case scenario is they stop talking to random strangers:p

Hippo's suggestion works for me too. I just posted a new video and sent notices on all of the riding groups I belong to on FB. I posted links in a few forums as well as on Discord. I'nm getting views. I'll be posting on Instagram next then work to get caught up on a lot of the channels I subscribe to on YT.

I have a few T-shirts with my channel logo, but haven''t made any stickers yet. I have business cards with my logo and channel name on it, and I've found that placing it on another rider's bike with a note of admiration about their ride works too.

I've notice that people place stickers on the side of a toll booth - not the EZ Pass kind, but one where you actually have to pay. I tend to notice those a lot too.

I'm in a few facebook riding groups but havn't ever posted links to my social media only for the fact, I've never seen anyone else do it, so didn't want to be the first one to rock the boat haha, I'll contact the admins and see if I can get a green light to do so. I've ordered a hoodie to go over my jacket with my links and logo's etc on, have a group ride coming up at the weekend so i'll get that on and hopefully get some eyes on it.

As far as commenting on the channels - How many are you engaging with? or is it more of a just keep hitting up any you come across sort of approach?

Networking with other motovloggers is the best way to gain traction, follow others, comment on their content, get to know their channels, use Facebook, Twitter etc, all these things are free and effective.
I've set up an insta, never used twitter, would you say it's worth doing? and Facebook I've just been using my own personal one to post from, is it better to have a dedicated channel account would you say?

I've not used stickers myself. I'm not really the kind to randomly go chat with strangers. Though it happens, just not as often, as it would be necessary.
As far as links go, I'm thinking it might be good to use QR code as link, because who can really be bothered to type in a link, from a sticker.
Only place I can recall I paid attention to the stickers myself, was when I made a stop on Oasa dam, in Romania, last year. The backs of traffic signs were full of stickers and I was looking, if I would spot any, that I know of. I did not pick up any new channels to follow though, because I knew I have couple weeks worth of catching up to do anyway, when I get home :D

I'd suggest creating a page just for your channel on Facebook, then join groups as that page (some don't allow that, but most do). Only post relevant content, so if it is a SV650 page, don't post vlogs from on your YB125 etc, but also, don't just post your content, engage with others, preferably more than you post your own stuff and def not just on the days you share your own content. I use Twitter, but I don't really get new followers from it, but having your brand out there gets it more familiar with people and it is a good way to get to know other motovloggers too, same with Facebook, follow the social media pages etc of channels on YouTube you follow. I am subbed to well over 200 channels on YouTube, and keep up to date with all of them... it takes some time, but I don't watch TV, so is easier to find time... I can also watch YT at work on night shifts too, which helps a lot. I tend not to follow channels that don't interest me, that way I can be sincere when I comment on their content and actually do enjoy chatting with them on their social medias etc.

Just been browsing through a load of the other channels on youtube, dropping the occasional comment to ones that catch my eye, seen your name pop up in a few of the comments sections haha, though you are right, it does seem to work, gained a few just this morning! thanks for the tip!

I was a programmer in the junk mail industry and that's about the extent of my advertising expertise. There is a lot of minutia in what does and doesn't work in advertising. It gets down to the nitty gritty of colors, fonts, etc. There are a few things that really stand out that I learned.

One is that you concentrate on the cost. I was shocked to find out that 1-3% is considered a great return for junk mail. They're happy with that because it's so cheap to reach a massive amount of customers. Even if they don't buy, they get the imprint of your company logo and maybe some info about you in their subconscious. That's valuable.

So would stickers work? Absolutely. I'd go so far as to say putting a patch on your jacket about your channel would be worth it. The number one reason is that it's cheap. I would make the address as large and as easy to see as possible. Use highly visible colors.

Writing this I just got the idea that it may do something psychological to yourself. If you're dedicated enough to put it on your jacket, you might be more likely to keep it updated with fresh content.

So far I've put a channel sticker on the back of my helmet, bumper sticker on my car and got a hoodie made with logo and link, generated about 15 followers so far, from what I know of

Have you calculated the price per follow? :D
For the hoodie and stickers I paid £35 all in all, so I guess it's £2.30 ish at the moment, that said I have a lot of the stickers still in the packet that I need to figure out where/how to use them
