What sets you apart?

We all know there’s a lot of motovloggers out there, so what makes you different and sets you apart from the rest? I’m interested to see what everyone on here does! I’m starting drag racing this spring so I’m going to make content around that and I’m excited to see how that’s going to help my channel grow

That is a great question and a good thing to think about. We all sort of need a niche, to try to stand out a bit.

Mine will get there, but I try to get to unique nature areas and show people something they might not otherwise see. Eventually it will morph into more travel motorcycle vlog.

I might have to put some more thought into what I can do to set myself apart from other vloggers who do things similar to me.

I love seeing videos with a lot of beautiful views! Nature is always a great thing to feature in videos. As someone who lives in the Midwest (nothing but corn and flat pastures) I love seeing mountains and beaches!

I think Moto Guzzi is my niche, but also the variety of roads I can ride and historical places I can visit (when able to leave the house)
I never heard of moto guzzi until I came across you! Featuring a lesser known type of bike is something that’s definitely unique and will keep viewers interested!

I never thought about it - I just wanted to share my rides with friends & family... and anyone else willing to watch. That morphed into doing test videos and gear setup videos, and now Davinci Resolve tutorials for moto vloggers, as well as product reviews for vlogging gear.

Now I sort of treat my ride videos like "short films", where they take many hours to edit and put together. I'm just letting my personality shine through practice & repetition, as well as learning a new skill - video editing.

I think what sets ME apart though, is I have some of the better audio for half-helmet wearing moto vloggers, and I try to capture the scenery around me.

Someone called me the "Mr. Rogers of Moto Vloggers" in my comments section a while back, because of my use of what I call "the placard" ... I love throwing special effects into my videos :D So I guess that's my niche-within-a-niche?

This is a great question though, thanks for asking it!

I might call the different kind of bike also one of the things that sets me apart. I have only stumbled on one more motovlogger who rides a Valkyrie, but I have not seen videos from him for so long, that I don't even remember his channel name. Maybe he deleted it.

The other thing is, I don't really want to motovlog as much as do (motorcycle)travel videos, or videos for people who might consider travelling here. These two things are really what I want my channel to be about, but motovlogs help to fill the quiet time :P I am lucky enough to come from relatively flat land, so any kind of mountain views and stuff get me exited to visit the place and make videos. If only someone would shower me with sufficient funds

@Lynkinite I have always found videos of racing teams, as we say kitchen side (not sure if the expression work in English), interesting. Sure racing itself can be interesting to watch too, but all the prep and pit side and such, this is what makes such series\channels work for me. I will definitely keep my eye open for your racing videos in the future.

I am a white male about 5'10" and ride a Harley - Does that set me apart?

Seriously though, you riding a drag bike should be an interesting topic!

Well, you're one of only a handful of Harley riders with a 360 camera that I've seen... so you've got THAT going for ya! :D

I don't think i have anything that really sets me apart.
Maybe the accent, but that isn't worth a sub ;)

And maybe some of the test bikes, as they are the less known ones...

But i do know that the XT has brought in some new subs, so that does help.

I've thought about this topic a lot over the past year, and I've come to the conclusion that I don't really know what sets me apart from other motovloggers yet!

Her Two Wheels is a female Harley rider.
FortNine is an educational and review bike channel.
As The Magpie Flies is a female adventure biker.
The Missendenflyer does bike reviews.
Moto Mengy is a......Goldwing rider?

So far I'm just making the videos I want to make, putting them out there for the public to enjoy, and letting things happen naturally. I've fallen a bit into doing road exploring, reviews, and scenic rides, which fortunately is stuff I love doing on motorcycles anyway! :D

I think what sets me apart is where I am based, not being a wheelie mad fool and operating within tight financial and often time budgets.

My locality to amazing scenery, historic locations and a decent knowledge of these areas helps to hopefully give me a niche.

Great question and definitely something we should constantly consider to ensure we don't all become grey-men or women.
