Hi all,
Hope everyone is set for Xmas> Seeing folk, not seeing folk... let's not go there hey!
Right. Did my first video in what seems like ages today and it felt.. difficult. Really difficult in fact. Usually, I can spurt crap with ease however today was tough! Might be I had the wife recording which was a new experience or simply out of practice but it's been a long while since I've felt so uncomfortable in front of the camera.

Tongue-tied, lost for words... rare but it does happen. I was very close to throwing the towel in! Persevered through and came good in the end. ... well, I got a 6-minute review out of it which I set out to do!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who goes back after a break and struggles to get back into the swing of things? How do you get back into the groove?

Dude, I feel ya... I'm still new at this and I often get tongue-tied, so I don't even have to take a break to have the same issues. It may or may not be helpful, but here's what I do when I'm recording, whether on the bike or off:

1. Take a breath and relax and try again.
2. Pause, re-think what I want to say, and try again.
3. Stop recording, re-read my notes (if I have them), start recording, and try again.

It helps that I found a transition (and have set it as a Preset) in Resolve which if I'm close in physical position to where I was in the preceding scene (before my screwup), it makes it look seamless or very close to it, like I never edited the video.

Also, Like HippoDrone, I've never had someone else record me, I think it might be weird. I have a hard enough time keeping my focus on the camera anyway.

I filmed my first new motovlog in over a month last week, and honestly no, it felt both familiar and great to be filming again. In fact now I'm missing it more than before because we have a lot of snow on the ground now and the roads are all messy.

In fact I think the break refreshed me and did me good truthfully.
