Small Newbie Youtube Struggles

I'm not quite at 400 subs after 23 months, however I'm more an educational channel than pure entertainment so my growth might be different. My views are picking up a little which is more important to me than subs. I reckon it'll take another couple of years to get to the magic 1K ... when I do I'll not be monetising as it's not worth it.
Too many of us (me included) lose or lost sight of the enjoyment of just creating and I've realised we're all too late to become YouTube sensations. I'll stay famous in my own mind only haha.

Yeah best just to do it for own reasons now, whether that be to educate or entertain yourself.

The real difficult is geting minimum 4000 hours view.

I'm the opposite. I only have 350 subs as of this morning yet I'm at 3800 lifetime hours watched, which is on my six month old channel! I'll easily be over 4K hours watched by whatever date I happen to hit 1K subs at.

Yeah, thousands of views per video? I'm in the tens of views per video. *I* could use some help!

I'm trying - I get 1 to 2 videos out per week, I keep increasing my editing skills (I think), and my on-topic focus, keep the scenery up, things like that... and crickets. I've got a few family and friends watching, and that's about it.

I even posted my LiveWire test ride video on Reddit... and promptly got called a shill for Harley LOL.

Currently sitting at 112 subs, and most of those were from the previous iteration of my channel when it was solely car-based stuff. My associated web site was also car-related, and is now revamped to be more of a personal blog & motorcycle/truck-related site.

Oh man, it's the Wild West over on Reddit! You gotta have a THICK SKIN to handle their shenanigans. They give 0 Fs about you. If you search for LiveWire, you'll probably see my video (it was released a week or so ago) and the comments. Some are nice, some are poignant, some are mean.

I posted my latest video up on there, and there's like 1 comment, and it's a guy who took the time to post how little he cares about my channel & site... that's the mentality
