hide or show your face

I hid my face for a while in videos for a number of reasons before eventually deciding to show my ugly mug , Im interested to know who does and doesnt show their face and what is the main motovation for their decision

I've shown my face numerous times. I'm not a superhero, so no need for a secret identity. I the grand scheme of things no one really cares who I am. I've never given my real name, but anyone can easily find it if they want.

my previous employment was a problem with me being on YT - since retiring I have loosened up and show my face - I also have a slight name change just to deter the crazys but dont think my ass is nice enough to have a stalker

i activly hide mine, dont need a camera cixing budget, my ugly mug wont benifit the channel, so little point.

i meant fixing budget (wont let me edit it now for some reason..... was also meant in jest) if im 100% honest i feel i can be more me when im not me... its weird, im not fully sure how to describe it, but the desociation of my face/self and online me makes me feel more like me,

casey neicstat does the same, he does it for another reason, he can look at the monitor/screen and still look like hes looking at the lense, making framing and other movement easyer. this also makes it feel a ton more personal and like hes actually talking to you rather than checking his camera even if he is doing the latter.

I never really gave it much thought but I show my face when I'm off the bike and talking. The audio would be better if I left the helmet on but I think having it off gives the video a personal touch.

I hide my face very well in my videos and photos. It's just I do it so well and elegantly, that most people think they see my face, when they are actually imagining it. So no one really knows what I look like. But they all think they do.

I initially hid my face again like others due to employment. Then after discussions with bosses and departments realised in the world of social media there is no point and it is more important not to identify my job online.

It can be annoying sometimes editing off bike stuff when you have been addressing the camera but for one reason or another are looking elsewhere.

Many employers have changed their views on social media - where before for many jobs it was a total no no , now most take that aproach of as long as you dont identify you employer or directly talk about subjects relating to their buisness then they are good . I guess its probably due to more younger people who actually know what social media is working in HR

Yeah... As long as you don't represent them badly they seem OK with it.

Sometimes contradiction occurs when they say don't identify yourself on social media... But in the next breath say please like and share our social media pages... The only folk that like those pages generally are in the job lol.

Back when I was just planning my channel out I wrestled with the "do I or don't I" show my face issue. On the one hand I love the way "Two Wheels and a Ponytail" handles it, where she creatively finds ways to hide her face and never show it. On the other hand that takes a lot of work too. In the end I decided I just didn't expect to become famous enough for it to matter, LOL! Plus I realized I tend to like motovlog channels where they show their face better, I think it just feels more personal, and I wanted my channel to feel inviting like that too so I decided to show my face.

Aye, to follow the TWAAP way would take a fair bit of dedication... Mainly to grow your hair that long.

I've never actively hidden my face, but I only film from a helmet mounted camera.
I have got a second camera but I need to get mounting points fitted on my bikes, which isn't straight forward.
