I was missing a simple way to record audio with 1 setup, I’m taking solo and multi vlogs. Record all your audio onto your modern video stabilized action cam. I’m talking DJI Osmo Action, GoPro hero 8, 7, 6, 5. I used to run a hero 3/4 with Sena Bluetooth Audio pack, and that’s the whole key to this. For a while I used 2 cams, audio pack on my B cam then joined the audio to my modern A cam in editing. I heard revzilla still uses a hero4 for their dual vlogs. This setup is just as simple but can use your superior cam.now I can use just 1 cam and upload vids without editing. I hate the editing, lol.

my buddies are digging out their old audio packs, I hope this can help some here! Mod please delete vid if not allowed, but I hope it’s okay to share.

There's a version of the Sena mic that goes into a 2.5" jack for $20 or so, why not just use that and plug it directly into the A cam, run it on the other side of the helmet if you still want to use the other mic for communicating

That is kinda cool, am guessing it might work with the new GoPro cameras too, but would still require the GoPro microphone adaptor or media mod. A lot of cables and kit though. I guess another alternative would be to synch up both yours and their cameras with a clap at the start of the ride, then get the other rider to send you an MP3 of their audio.

Yes you need more GoPro hardware then it'll work fine. It will also work with a dslr with 3.5mm mic jack for say a rolling photoshoot, the range is good enough that a car beside you can have this. But something that big you would likely be willing to edit. One of the main reasons for this is saving time in the edit, so tedious joining everything together and then the damn render time. This lets you record and upload quickly.

Simple editing does make it all a bit easier. I used to run a separate voice recorder (still do on trackdays) and the amount of times I snapped cables or disconnected things inadvertently, or forgot to turn them on puts me off these complicated setups... but then I have not ever tried a dualvlog chatting with other riders, so it hasn't been an issue for me.
Awesome talk through on your solution though @GIZZ :)

The media mod requirement for the GoPro Hero 8 does seem limiting. In some ways I wish I'd gotten the Hero 7, I feel like it might have given me more flexibility.
