End screens on youtube

I want a subscribe button on my end screens however it automatically uses my 'channel icon' instead of the subscribe button that I have in the corner of my uploads. Is this normal? It suggests I can have my subscribe button as an end screen template but when the last few seconds appears it brings up my channel icon which doesn't actually say on it "SUBSCRIBE" ...... ? Anyone know how to sort this? Neil

Or do I have to change my icon to something that says SUBSCRIBE on it? It only says subscribe if you hover over it which viewers might not do. It's not inviting people (viewers) to hover over it, it's just a round pic of my ugly mug!

If I remember correctly, you would have to add the subscribe button in editing then create the "box" to click the in youtube. I could be wrong since I haven't tried in a while since I got lazy and content with how easy it is to just click the endscreen templates.

I might just make a new channel icon then ;)
Just be mindful, that your channel logo is what folk will associate with your channel. It might put folk off if you turn it into a sub type button. Why not just add a graphic to your vid for the endscreen that says "click here to sub" or somit?
A logo is good, but you don't want the logo to be an ad I'd not have thought?

Just to note, when folk hover over the button, it does show that it is a "subscribe" button:

GOOD IDEA

Hopefully it'll get the result you are after.
Remember YouTube is a slow burn to start with, once established getting subs does become easier.
I do wonder what you are doing to find an audience?

Not enough yet! Just trying to get my head around keywords and tags. The channel will evolve in time and I’m finding my style and working on my delivery! I’m thinking of ways and options on tempting more viewers. Maybe hijacking threads on MC Rider haha.

Promoting through Facebook and Reddit have worked for me. I also have business cards that I hand out while riding. It's a slow burn for sure. I have the end screens setup on all my videos. I also do Twitch streaming, so I can steer people to my YouTube page from there.

Nice one. I’ve just discovered Reddit and signed up. Not sure where to go with it yet but will have a play. Twitch I’ll look at - cheers. Appears my channel tags aren’t that dynamic to be fair. Fine tuning over the next week I think
