Blur Speedo?

In what international jurisdictions is it prudent to blur your plate? I'm assuming it's a wise move, but what a time consuming process it can be (Movie Studio 14 platinum). Any tips?
 
Even with tracking software blurring the number plate or speedo is a pain. I just try not to show my plate in videos and am using a filter on my camera to hide my tft dash.
 
It would be easier to aim your cam higher in order to not show your speedo, and try not to capture your own plate, if so put an emoji to hide it :D

a lot of folk have said to me they like seeing the bike so it would possibly put viewers off if they can't see the bike and it's dash.

Both, but speedo is the big problem, as my camera is mounted on my chin, so it is blingingly obvious to anyone watching what speed I'm doing...

I have an LCD readout for speed - any filters going to work with that?

Agree: part of the attraction is that the cam footage is immersive - the viewer is the rider. Lose that and I'll lose most of my 9 subscribers :)
 
Only time I’ll ever blur the speedo is if I’m way over. Even then it’s not hard to work out how fast I’m going.
I really wouldn’t worry about it to be honest.

If you have some sunglasses with polarised lenses try looking through at the dash with them rotated 90' the screen should now not show. If it works then buy some polarised film and put it on your camera lens.
 
I have an update on this, the filter works pretty well on my KTM 390 Duke, but a lot less effectively on my Triumph Street Triple 765, am guessing it is a difference in the quality and type of screens used. A suitably placed mobile phone seems a less elegant but more effective solution! :-)
 
I heard of one dude putting some dark window tint film over the speedo so the camera wouldn't really be able to see through it but you can if you need to. I think it was DanTheTwoWheeler

The software I have that has tracking doesn't work in 2.7k, it doesn't seem to like that resolution for some reason.
 
I wonder if it’s possible to export a version of your 2.7K clip to a lower resolution. Save it under. A different name and do the motion tracking on it. Export just the layer with the blurred matte or covering image, and then composit it over your original 2.7K clip.

It’s a round about way of doing it, but may serve to get the needed results.
