iFlix & The Qyou

As some of you may recall, I had posted before about "Network of One" (which is all good by the way, have not sold anymore videos to them since but that was my choice). Anyway, was approached by The Qyou, just wanted to see what do you guys think of this. Attached is the T&C agreement for reference.

Hi Sighbored,

Reaching out again incase you missed my initial email.

I work for a company in Los Angeles called The Qyou, and we're in the process of producing a weekly hour-long show for iFlix in Malaysia. We think your content would be a great fit, and below is some additional information:

• You would retain all rights to your videos and remain free to continue monetizing them wherever you like, as our agreement is 100% nonexclusive.
• Regarding revenue, you would earn a $20 (USD) insertion rate for every video when it is featured on one of our iFlix shows. We also produce various shows internationally that may feature your content. In that scenario, you would earn an additional $20 per insertion for each of your videos featured internationally.
  
  
• No additional production or post production is required by you, as we just pull the copy uploaded to YouTube and use that for broadcast.

If this opportunity is of interest to you, I can send you our permission-to-air form sometime this week for you to review and sign. Hope to hear from you soon.

I'm not clued up on this but at face value it looks like a good opportunity. Have them pay and pull your videos from YouTube with no extra work sounds like a good way to get some extra fuel money. Though it may be worth looking to see if you can find anything to see if someone else has been approached.

I looked at agreement and there isn't anything stopping you talking about the deal so permitting if anyone else has been approached and signed they could talk about it. Like I said I'm not a laywer but if I was in your shoes that would I'd do.

Good to hear from you.

You can cancel our agreement anytime (given 30 days notice) and your content will be taken out of any new episodes developed.

I've attached the permission form below that details T&C

Please let me know if you have any questions! If all is good, once you get the signed form back to me, our producers can start reviewing your videos for featuring.

I'm still undecided about it hence the post to see what you all think.. It's not something I really need but at the same time kind of curious about it..

From my understanding, they just download your stuff off from YouTube, and will edit it as they see fit to be used in their program or such.. So they are not on YT itself and will not affect your YT traffic or etc. That is also probably why they mention that we are free to continue monetization of our content on YT.

Then it can't harm you, and might even increase traffic if folk find out who you are from it.

I say go for it. YouTube money is getting harder to make at the moment so if there going to pay $20 every time they use something it’s kinda a no brainer.
