Hello, I plan to buy used gopro hero 4 black. Any advice on mic setup compatible with that?

What do you think about dedicated sound recorder like zoom h4? Will it be far better than using mic adapter for gopro? Do you think its worth the money?

If I used lav mic inside my helmet will it capture enough audio from my bike and the road?

Im a complete beginner in motovlog setup, any advice is apreciated!

I tried both and like the adapter because I dislike trying to sync up audio especially when I turn the camera on ad off.

Nearly 99% of my videos have the helmet mike and I usually end up talking to someone with it on. Check out the review of the Street Rod where I am talking to the rider at the church. The mic with adapter picks up me, him and our bikes all fairly good.

I have both a gopro mic adaptor and a standalone voice recorder. I like both for different reasons. The gopro adaptor for it's convenience in sync audio/video and the standalone as I think it is one better quality and 2 it allows the gopro to remain waterproof. On my current bike (which has straight through exhausts) the bike noise sounds ace with an in helmet mic setup. My next bike will most likely be a lot quieter as I want to be able to take it on trackdays which have noise testing so I will possibly use both.... utilising the voice recorder to pick up the bike noise and the gopro mic adaptor to pick up the in helmet stuff.
You will need the official GoPro mic adaptor (I have heard that the clone adaptors are not as good) and then a mic like this one will be reasonable on quality for voice, probs fit a deadcat to it to reduce wind noise a bit too:
