Question About Copyright Strike

I just finished editing my new video but I have a clip of 1.5 seconds of a spongebob episode.
Most of you will know what I mean, it's that "a few moments later" snippet.
Can I get a copyright strike for using this?
Hope you guys can help me out because I don't want to risk it.

Yes, it could be considered fair use. It's not the main part of the content of the video.

I recently used copyrighted music in my video. I did it on purpose because the music just really went with the video. By doing that i knew that i couldnt monetize the video, so i didnt. I got an email from youtube saying that the copyright owner actually monetized the video for them, so whatever money is generated, goes to them. I didnt have to do anything. Video is still up and all is good.

Can you share the video? I'd love to check it out. :D

For just that 1.5 seconds I doubt they will be able to detect it, I think you should be alright. They are more heavy on music copyright, be in songs or background (game) music.

Also depend on the copyright owners, how diligent they are at tracking/tracing IP infringement. Like Dorna (MotoGP) are super diligent, so they are actively stamping copyright on videos ripped and posted by people on YT.

That's my observation.

There's no guarantees, you're probably alright if others have used it. You can get a notification which isn't a strike and the people who make SBSP can claim the monetisation rights to the video, but that wouldn't affect your video being up

How does one make claim monetization claim on a video? I have only been able to report the videos (that have been ripped and re-uploaded from my channel) and those get taken down. To be honest I would really rather make a claim on those, let them rip and post, it's more coverage for me and the monies still come into my pocket.

But no, YT only pulls down the video and if multiple offence, they will take down that entire channel. I made that happen once. The dude was practically re-uploading just about any video I had (I have no idea why).. The bigger pain was doing the reporting, I had to copy and paste each clip link of the offender, and then again of my original, imagine doing that 20 or 30 times in a row. x_x

YT needs to improve their reporting process especially for large number of videos there should be an option to just report the channel itself.

How do you know someone has stolen your original video? Just stumble across it?

Yup, either I stumble upon it or some viewer drops me a message with the link of the ripped video, and I will go check it out.

You used to be able to report a video on behalf of another user, i.e. if I saw one of your videos re-uploaded, I can report it to YT and indicate the real owner of that video, but now only the real owner can make that report.

Seriously? That's so stupid, I hope whoever does that gets banned from YT!

There's one guy that is sending me messages saying sorry and asking me to take back my claim cause he cannot post videos on his channel, no way I am doing that, because his channel is mostly ripped videos from other people anyway.
