Meaning Behind My Logo.

MotoDynsty

Putting the Nasty in DyNasty
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I've seen some members asking about logo help and username development and I thought to share how my design came to be and maybe help inspire others.

So lets start with the name: MotoDynasty702.
Moto: Motorcylce (obviously).

Dynasty: Simple definition of dynasty is a succession of people from the same family who play a prominent role in business, politics, or another field. Their are a lot of MotoVloggers out in the market. I want to make an impact on those who watch and those who do vlogging. Acceptance into the "dynasty" of motovloggers who created the path for the new comers. Developing my own dynasty and hopes to inspire future viewers to follow the path of their dreams. May sound sappy but riding and owning a motorcycle has been a long time dream for me.

702: My area code. Lovely Las Vegas, NV

So once I got my name I really began to think of what my logo should show about me as a person.

The prominent design piece is the red brush stroked red circle. I wanted this to be the biggest and most prominent portion of my design due to the meaning of the circle itself. This is known as an Enso Circle and is a predominant sign in Zen Buddhism. Researching artistic freedom the Enso circle became something that always came up in my research. I used the unfinished circle which stands for allowing a free mind to allow your body to create. I've never felt more free then when I'm on 2 wheels. Allowing myself to come out of my shy shell and sometimes hard to socially interact personality was a big thing I noticed when I started riding. This has allowed myself to begin creating my vlogs without predisposed misconceptions or judgments. I felt natural and "free" to do and talk about what I wanted. My own artistic freedom. The incomplete circle also displays ones ability to develop and grow in their venture. As I am new to the vlogging community I would be stupid to think things will never change. As time progresses, I hope my viewers and subscribes begin to notice my growth within my own content. Obviously I'm not even close to perfecting what I want, but the symbol of Enso shows the beauty of imperfection and growth. I'm not a Buddhist but I felt this symbol really conveyed who I am as a person.

Obviously you see the motorcycle and MD in the logo. Simple: Motodynasty shortened with a shadow rider on a super sport. On my youtube page my banner is has all the elements from the logo but with Japanese calligraphy depicting a rough translation to "Motorcycle Dynasty".

Hopefully some people get why I wrote this and maybe help inspire some new motovloggers in their design phase. If you read this far....I commend and thank you. lol

I know, it was long winded, but this logo was a month in the making and even in the simplicity of the design, has a lot of meaning to me as a rider and a person ;)

I give you free calligraphy for MotoDynasty.

Nice write up, you could do an origins video for it someday. Everyone should do their origins video someday, including me.

For myself, the origins of the logo was not for video or motovlogging or anything of that sort. It was simply a logo I decided to make, because at that time I wanted something to show that I was an independent rider, not affiliated with any clubs or such. It was a time where bikers were being particular as to which group you are with, and I wanted to show that I wasn't part of any group, I had no interest to be in a group, but I would be fine making friends, not being a member of the "club".

In the era of MSN messenger (if you all even know what that is), I decided to emulate it's logo, but drop one of the "people", to show independence. I added the visor to symbolize the helmet, a rider.

I wanted the logo to pop, to be noticed, so that they will know, I am not interested to be part of whatever club, so I picked the hazard sign. Some might say I took the hazard sign and flipped the exclamation symbol, but that's not really it.

With that, I was done. Initially the logo was paired with the "Independent" word.

Eventually I created a YouTube account to share riding videos with my friends, just reused the logo, and the rest is history.

Mine's simple, it's a graphic of my name!

Swiss Cheese = Swiss, I live in the best country in the world for biking.
Motorbike = Motard, the French word for "biker" as I live in a French speaking area.

Appreciate the kind words. I like reading other peoples inspiration behind their name and logo as well

My logo is a bat holding a cartoon bomb in a yellow circle. I based it off of WWII bomber nose art and insignia patches, more specifically that of the "Night Fighter" squadrons, who used bats in their designs frequently. I drew it myself with a pencil and paper and then worked it up a bit in photoshop. It also has my name on top, which is also the name of my YouTube channel.

I chose a bat because I'm typically a night person and I've always had kind of a gothic thing going on style wise. The bat has a big grin on his face because I always have a big grin when I'm roaring down the highway on my bike. Motorcycles are the best anti-depressant in the world. The yellow circle is just representative of the moon. The cartoon bomb is there because I used to like to make bombs and blow stuff up during my younger days. Apparently the ATF frowns on that these days, so I don't do it anymore. I just stick to rev bombs! If you've ever seen the movie "Hesher" I was kind of like that when I was younger. The bomb is red, the same color as my Ducati 1098s.

Awesome stuff! I actually thought world war 2 bomber art when i saw it the first time!

Mine's pretty simple ...

I ride an SV1000S and it was nearly destroyed when I got it. It wasn't technically a salvage bike, but if there was an insurance claim on it, it probably would have been totaled.

That's cool. It's interesting reading about everyones logos and the meaning behind it too. For me, I wanted something that would be catchy and easy to remember. Motor Psych (not psycho) sounds like 'motorcycle' a little. Psych means to be excited about, and it also means to analyse. I love finding out how it all works, I love wrenching and I also ride in Japan. Thus the name. Like @SighBored said, we should all do an origins video. Its on my list of motovlog topics.
