Scary Crash..

#NIGHTRIDER
On 10/02/2016 i crashed my bike along a quiet stretch of road into a badger at quite some speed, Luckily my brother was with me and 2 lorry drivers came by as it was 2 in the morning and no one was about and both of our phone had died, mine died on impact of the floor and my brother forgot to charge his..... so typical really.. but in all luckiness in this world someone was looking down on me that night.
Thank you to the ambulance crew and my brother.

Here is a video of all damage and the bike before the accident.

If anyone has had the same experience post it or any advice next time to actually dodge it?

You can check out all the aftermath pictures of the accident at tman411 on youtube.

Welcome to the forum!

Glad to hear you're up and about, and good to hear that people stopped to help.

When you've hit a few more posts, pop the video in the Post Your Videos section and you'll get specific comments in there.

Don't forget to do a welcome post in the introductions area and tell us about your self and your (former) ride.

Crashes are always interesting to discuss as there's nearly always something we can take away and learn regardless of fault or if it was one of those things. Be good to hear what advice you'd give to others for riding at night in the country.

I have to say that when darkness falls I tend to stick to the main roads as bike headlights aren't as good as cars for illumination, and distances are harder to judge.

Thank you Lurch, I'm okay i was in a bad way for atleast 3 days after the accident, and will do! i have been on here for atleast 4 years just never put myself out there as always busy etc, I can put the whole story up but some of it was disturbing enough to never talk about again...lol..... Im going to be doing the same now without a doubt when darkness falls it'll be straight home unless i need to be out..

No mushrooms or a snake?

All memes aside, glad you are OK. If you can't dodge it open the throttle. Unload weight from that front tire, it might help you ride over it (as shitty as this sounds, it sometimes is the only safe option). Obviously if it is a big animal you are more than likely going to have a really bad day. Badger? Might get away with it.
