Poi File For Free Parking London

Im working on a POI file that can be used on TomTom (inc the App) and Garmin devices that shows all the free parking bays on the street within the M25.

Now I am not asking for help with this just letting you all know I'm working on it and updating it weekly and it is 100% free (some sites are charging 30 quid for said file that doesn't include half of what I have covered so far).

I would love more people to test it on their devices and anyone that uses a sat nav that inst a TomTom or Garmin let me know as I would like to support some of the more obscure devices in the future.

All the best hope some of you find it useful.

PS. Will be doing a separate POI for Westminster as you have to pay for parking there.

Oy mate! Thanks for the map! I'll be using the Google Map one since I don't have a TomTom or Garmin device.

I'll be going to London in March for a holiday and renting a bike there.

On the side, you think it's okay to park by the roadside outside the London metropolitan area?

Once out side of central London most places are free for bikes. But check the signs. For example Richmond you can legal park in a car bay as long as you park with the bikes back wheel to the curb. But they also have bike bays for bikes only. If you look at the bottom of the page Im also adding all the links to various boroughs in London to show their parking restrictions.

Great idea - Will it include the tomtom Iphone app going forwards./

The POI file is TomTom compatible, the TomTom app by default do not official support POI files but can be made to work on Android. Not got IPhone to test tho.

This OLD post seems to imply it can be done.

Just use the file for the Android App will have no custom icon but that shouldn't matter. If the app crashes just remove the POI file again.

Superb idea. If you need any more info, the local MAG groups may have locations of parking, I know the Leeds one shows where the one ( ;) ) free space is!
