If you click on my Youtube link in my sig, you'll see the issue. For some reason I don't have the usual www.youtube/user/whitegixer ID as I would like but this daft-ass lengthy code. Ok the link works but it aint gonna look too good on a link on the screen of my bike is it? lol

Also, I'm probably just missing the obvious here, but how do I get the TWITTER and YOUTUBE icons in my Youtube Channel for external links to sites like Vimeo and Twitter etc?

I know you guys are a clever bunch and can help me clear this up (nudge nudge) ;)

Need to go to your settings click sharing on the left then you can connect to facebook, twitter, or Orkut which give you the icon to click on in your channel

It's started happening since they introduced names with spaces in it.

I think it has something to do with having a Google+ account linked with your youtube profile.

Maybe...

think your right chief. In that case mines probably something like /user/dan gixer... or (just tried it) maybe not

I noticed that when I tried to setup a new channel. It's such a hassle now.

I don't think there's a way to get the nice URL you're looking for through youtube. If you want a nice url to put on a sticker on your bike or something like that, I think your best bet is to register a domain name and redirect it to your youtube channel.

Can't have a space in a URL! I tried that while I was trying to work it out too :P Should have mentioned.

Glad you got it sorted now! Now if only they make it so you can change your Youtube name...
Fricking hate having numbers in it.

That's actually not a bad idea. There's DNS pointers that are free too, and look a lot better than your actual YT link.

Ofcourse you can leave out the "user" bit on the youtube link all together. The difference between www.youtube.com/Trinith and www.youtube.com/user/Trinith is evident to us, but not to YouTube.
