Seriously not serious
Has anyone tried following the new transcript feature on youtube? Because i have found it to be hilarious! Its incredibly inaccurate for motovloggers and comes up with some great guesses.
In one of my vlogs i say "and that may be so in part" and the transcript reads "that may be selling pot"! I hope the police arnt using this transcript feature!

The transcripts are, indeed, hilarious at times, but speach recognition is one of the hardest problems in computing. I'm actually impressed with how well they do, in fact, do. They may not be brilliant at the moment, but I expect they will add word and sentence structure analysis in which will improve the accuracy. The more people add their own transcripts, the more their algorithms will learn, too.

Unfortunately, the state the technology is in at the moment, I think it is still a bit of a novelty and probably not really useful for the hearing impaired. It is an important area of research, though, and it's great to see Google using some of their server power and computing expertise to work on it.

In the meantime, I have learned not to drink whilst reading the transcripts if I want to avoid spraying my drink everywhere.

Nothing wrong with a Porto :D

Only saw this feature for the first time two days ago. Crazy translations in there...

No, I haven't seen this feature yet. Is it accessible only when you upload or can you apply it to videos at any stage?

I can imagine how hilarious the translation will be when I apply it to my Aussie drawl!

I know a guy on a forum who uses this technology to transcribe his posts the lazy bastard! He says that for the most part, it works well. He just has to fix a few errors here and there. Much quicker than typing for him he says.

Go to any video, and next to the like/dislike button there is 'about' 'share' 'add to' then a square thing... click that button and the dialogue starts rolling.

Thanks mate. What a classic! The only line it got right in my video about the Spot GPS tracking device was the last one!

Had lots of funny stuff such as "the distance that you've travelled on your printer" WTF!
