Youtube Starting Help?

Ive just started my motovlog channel and have a few uploads ready for it and am starting to upload regular, whats the best way to get noticed by people and get the ball rolling with subscribers and viewers?

The key is being social, as Dan says.
That means - watch, and comment on, other motovloggers channels. Eventually your name will appear familiar to people and they will check you out. I did this for 6 months before I uploaded my first vlog...
This is where it pays off - these channels will be curious to check you out - because you aren't someone who just popped up out of the blue and asked them to watch your stuff. ONLY THEN will their greater audience even notice you.
There is no short cut to this, I have seen people appear out of nowhere and literally DEMAND attention, and even start merchandising, but because they didn't watch and comment on other people's vids nobody knew who the hell they were and it simply didn't work.
Another reward is you will form great relationships with motovloggers around the world. And not just on-line - I have met and rode with 25 motovloggers and I live pretty remote. But when I've travelled, they were keen to come and meet me because we already "knew" each other. It's the best bit of the whole thing for me :)
Another hint I can give you starting out -
Put something in the "About" tab on your YouTube channel. Even if it's just what bike and camera you use, where you ride... you know - something is better than nothing and you can always update it. I know many of my fellow vloggers who will check a channel out and are more likely to look right into it if there is a description.
Lastly - put a link to your channel in your signature here o_O
Now for your vlogs - do test runs and make sure the sound is ok. It can take many attempts to find the right position for your mic. Even if you are not talking, use an external mic - NOT the camera's built in one, no one likes to hear the crackly shit that the wind makes in the in-built mic when you ride!
Good luck, hope you have as much fun as I do at this!!

It's great if you can talk fluidly on a topic for 5 minutes, but if you're anything like me, get good at editing.
I've found that if I'm unsure whether something should stay in the video or not, then it gets deleted. It's better to have a shorter video which keeps to the point, than a longer video that waffles on. Don't forget to have fun :)

Ive been trying to work on my youtube banner, and on photoshop it looks PERFECT, but when i upload it to youtube, it looks blurry and bleh. Is there any specific format you guys know that would look the best for the banner settings?

Hmmm, it looks good on my end... could it be your browser :o ??? Do you have another browser you can try :) ? Also, clean out your browser cache and see if that helps or even do a force reload if you can :o . I think the browser is just being goofy ~_~ .....

might be your browser i had to fiddle with my banner to get the text the right size and stuff its a proper faff about

Is there any particular effect you gave your text while making it? maybe rasterized the layer, or maybe vectored everything. Ive tried it on several different browsers and it doesnt look as crisp as i had it on photoshop. If you wanna see what im talking about, just look me up on youtube as revvinrav. Maybe its just me that i think less of what i made

Hah, you're getting highly technical on me :p ... but the text is vector-based (hope I'm using the right term here  ) - nothing real fancy. I saved the photoshop document all in layers and then the file to YouTube as a full-quality jpeg using the "Save for Web & Devices" option (optimized, no blur).

Did you do your text using a font or did you do draw it in Photoshop yourself  ???

Also, I see a lot of anti-aliasing happening around your text. Almost like a jpeg (or a low-quality jpeg) was edited into your Photoshop document and lost quality (or something  ...). Did you pull your text from somewhere else  ???

Just some thoughts :p ... hope I was able to help out a little bit  .....

btw, misread what you read earlier, sorry ~_~ .....
