Well this is a game changer, folks. Tried to post a comment in a friends discussion section this morning and YouTube (google) is making me use my G+ account. The one with MY NAME and MY FACE. Not sure where to go from here. They're enabling for video comments in 1-2 months.

"But YouTube risks alienating some users by requiring them to use their Google+ identity to comment on the site. The move has been more than a year in the making; in June 2012, Google began asking YouTube users to switch their usernames to their Google+ handles, part of a relentless push to herd users onto the social network. With the change, users can now choose to post their YouTube comments to Google+. It’s a creative way of supplying Google+ with fresh content — YouTube draws comments by the millions. Still, it may upset people who preferred to comment anonymously. (Google says you can still comment on YouTube using a pseudonym, if you use one when you create a Google+ account.)"

What about the guys who already have an account? Am I missing something?

Can't delete G+ without deleting your YT account:

Can't disconnect the two:

Mmmmm yep ... Those 'goggle' ppl getting almost as intrusive as FB ...

My G+ account with my 'face' ... Picture looks exactly like a green frog I took a photo of ;) ... When I resized and uploaded the photo ... G+ site said "we can't detect a face, please upload your face picture" ... Looked around page a bit .. Found another bit that let me say/force them to accept .. That it was indeed the photo I meant to use...

Done ... So any transgressions by me .... May just result in Kermit being given a hard time by the law ;) ..

Anyone that I need on my contact list either knows what I look like anyway.... Knows the various 'handles' I use ... Though mostly it's this one .. Or accepts the frog photo...

Can't win all the time ... But there is still choices we can make!

I ended up wiping all my personal info from G+, making EVERYTHING private, changed my name to Miggs Motovlogs, and changed the profile picture and banner picture. Couldn't use Miggs7170 bc it's "not a real name." What a pain in the ass.

FFS - DO NOT create a new G+ page for your channel. You'll cartwheel yourself into a state of panic as all your subs, likes, comments, everything *poofs.* Maybe I did something wrong. I hit the "undo" under settings (within the 14 day time limit) and rather just used the email/G+ account I used to start my YouTube channel with my personal info wiped clean.

Effing REDIC.

I simply had it create a new page for my YT account, and then made sure that I was signed into YT with the proper account. None of my subs, comments, likes, or anything disappeared. The only difference I've noticed is that my avatar is gone and I can't figure out how to get it back. Not terribly important though.

Google is taking over. We switched to Gmail at work (and it ROYALLY sucks) and it continuously signs me out of YouTube because it's butting heads with my personal Google account. I only created a Google account because YouTube required it. Eventually, Google will expose to the world your underwear size, depth of belly-button, IQ, average turd length and other personal information. It's not good folks, all this social media interaction. Got a new phone recently. Push the phone button to make a call and a list comes up with your recently called numbers. Logic would dictate that a dial pad come up first, but no........ the system (Windows8) is geared towards social media. I explicitly told the biotch I just wanted to make phone calls (it is a phone, right?), transfer my music to it and text if needed. "Oh ....... it's intuitive", she said. "It's designed for new smart phone users like you" she said. So I bought the sales pitch, and 3 days later took it back because I couldn't figure some things out, lol. Low and behold - they couldn't either. Should have bought an iphone I guess, my ipod is super simple to use. Just didn't want a data plan, and you can get a Nokia Windows phone without having a contract or data plan. Word of advice - Windows phones suck, unless all you care about is texting, which I will admit it does a real good job at.
Anyway back to Google. What started out as a great idea has been perverted and corrupted. It's all about the money at the end of the day.

Didn't work for me this morning, but I went back and tried it again this afternoon and it popped over as you said with all my subs etc. Also wiped my avatar. Easy fix. Just pop over to your G+ account you created and update your profile picture. It's pulling through from that.

So either I'm dumb as sh%# or they fixed something. Probably the former. Still would rather have kept it attached and had my regular old G+ account. Oh well. Roll with it or don't use it I suppose.

I just made a channel and all that google bullcrap with my rider's info, nothing relating to me personally. It's all about what you share. Google can't figure out who you are and where you live by itself, you have to provide some data the same way you do on facebook or other social websites. Call me paranoid but sometimes I prefer not to share certain media like family pictures and vids because you can never know who's at the other side.
Also, activated my account using a prepaid throw-away simcard. My phone number, real name, address is totally personal, it shouldn't be used by google for anything.

Anyways, if they want my data, they are going to get it. Many friends and coworkers have android phones synced with their google mail account, contacts, mail, calendar and all. They share with google their phonebook with my real info. As paranoid as I am, that's one reason why I still keep my dumbphone.
