Youtube channel trailer:

Since I changed my YT layout to the new updated one, I've (to date) neglected to add a channel trailer to my page. Has anyone else added one? Do they make a difference to how your channel is received?

I was thinking about adding a trailer, but I want to know if anyone else has bothered. Is it a waste of time?

I don't see any harm in adding a trailer, but ultimately I guess most people decide whether to subscribe or not by watching your normal videos.

If you don't feel like making a trailer then it's probably best not to force it.

I threw together a 30 second clip of riding to some generic dubstep and put that up. Only took me 10 minutes, and most of that was choosing a song to use

It's not that I don't feel like making one, it's just that it's not something I've ever really thought about. I mean, I switched back and forth between the new and old layouts a couple of times already, and I've sort of settled on the new.

I guess I'll have a look through some of my raw footage and see if I can't cobble something together.

I think the footage is going to be the hard part for me I've already decided that whatever clips I use, I'm going to set it to one of my own recorded instrumentals.

It's worth making, some people use there most recent video but I decided to spend some time on mine and I can't stop watching it (Its so simple but I like it so much) and recording to youtube I got few subscribers from it

Or you can do what big youtubers are doing and make a video describing what this channel is all about and what kind of videos are you gone be making.

I'm a little impatient so I'd rather just get the latest vlog. If my computer happens to hang up, finally unclenches it's grasp upon my life and moves forward with the video, and then I find out it was just a commercial for your channel... Well, I'm likely to just move on.
