WOWZERS... end of January already!

So 1/12th of the way through the year, what are you plans for Christmas? :D hahaha

More seriously though, boy the months fly by as you get older. I have many things I want to do this year, I really hope they are all possible.

Does anyone else find time-managements / time-anxiety a thing? For me the days become a blur, and I really struggle to get the things that I want doing done.

I hope everyone is well, and those who's motorcycles have had to be tucked up for winter are coping and those who's aren't, are managing to get some good bike time in! :-)

No plans for Christmas yet, besides the goal to survive till then. Maybe even longer.
Time management for me is not very much an issue. I always lack time at work, so nothing to manage, just keep working. And then I have the reverse effect from my free time. I have now lived in my new flat for 1,5 years. I think I might get unpacked soon :P

I have been in my house for over 20 years and still find an occasional box that needs unpacking. The R-Rated archives is vast!

Time management is not too difficult for me. Been on a schedule of sort since escaping the lab.

Some things I schedule like edits, shooting videos, paying bills, projects at work such as employee evaluations and helping the frontline workers I supervise get the huge backlog of cases reviewed, going on dates with the wife and social activities, etc.

Other things I leave up the universe to nudge me one direction or another. Kind of like the Butterfly Effect type of thing. This is more enjoyable sometimes as it leads to pleasant surprises.

If I encounter a really difficult choice where all the pros and cons are equal I pull out a coin from my pocket, flip it, then get on the bike and go.

Just yesterday I rode 4 hours following the general direction a spinning screwdriver stopped. Today I have a couple places I need to ride over to for one reason or another because I have too much vacation time every month and have to use it.

Hahaha, I left the Royal Navy 9 years ago and stiull have not unpacked from that move, I shoved all the boxes in my spare room and gave them a damn good ignoring.... Which is one of the tasks I want to do this year, slowly getting my house tidied up and junk thrown out.

That sounds a good explore Anthony :-)

I think we both may have a good amount of stuff to donate away, if they can stay in the boxes undisturbed so long

Yup, all I need to do is security clear the submarine stuff to make sure nothing sensitive gets thrown away, the rest is surplus to requirements!

It does go faster the older you get.

I know I suck at time management. I know I won't get the things done I want to or should. I stopped caring, things get done when they get done. I won't let need to do, get in the way of riding.

Between my day job, being a wrestling coach and being married I'm curious what is this time management idea you speak of?

Seriously, I'm off to work at 7am and I don't usually walk back through the door until 830pm. Wrestling practice is three hours and involves a lot of sweat even on my part as I train with my captains to give them a stronger opponent to push against. This month has been a wrecking ball with covid decimating my team, me stressing out with the fact that I worked directly with each of my athletes who tested positive (I am boosted and had covid last year so I may be lucky with a super robust immunity) so luckiliy I never tested positive again and didn't bring it home to the wife. I am very happy that month is over, but it does mean that I am in the last few weeks of working with the seniors on my team and these are the kids that I started my first year as a coach with them as freshmen.

And I am one month closer to Laconia Bike week which hopefully brings me face to face with Mr. R-Rated!

January flew by for me.
I used up my backlog of videos to upload, but managed to get most of our kitchen remodeled in the meantime.
Here's to warmer and drier weather to get out on the bikes again and enjoy some wind therapy.

I had vacation during the first week of January and the 4 days into my next set of 7 days I tested positive for Covid and had to isolate for 10 days, i isolated for 14 because of my 7 days on and 7 days off schedule, so that means i have worked 4 days in all of January. Talk about go fast. And thank God for Farming simulator 22.

Man, we've been swamped with stuff to do around here, and the one thing falling by the wayside is my video editing. No riding since December due to salt on the roads... seriously, you lick the road and get high blood pressure, or rub a glass on it and ya got margarita fixins. No thanks.

Still, I'm working through footage as I can, from as far back as October... but I have some from June/July to go through as well - those ride videos ought to be very scenic.

Work, kids, wife, Lego, all come before this. Haha, "time management" - I get what time I get, and I can either watch YT or edit vids for YT, not both :(

What's time management? What's time? I swear, I skipped an entire riding season and woke up in winter again. That' or it's the groundhogs day effect the last 2 years have had....

Been on a metric ton of OT, and lots of family stuff going on, on top of shopping for a new house, or potentially building one. Didn't think I would have to move again, but as much room as we have, it's not in the right places for where our lives have gone. Plus, it's a lot of acres to keep up on with no time.

I hope things slow down a bit, so I can enjoy the warmer months this year.

Oh wow. I hope you had some reserve funds. I have been ill so I had to stay away from work, for a month. Once. And that was years ago, but I still remember it, because if I did not have my emergency fund, I would have starved next month, after paying my rent and phone bill.
My company paid me my full salary. I got the virus at work and they have a good policy for sick time. One of the reasons that I only worked 4 days is because I work 7 x 12 hours days in my set and then I have 7 full days off. If I take a weeks vacation it gives me 21 days off in a row. The downside is that I spend my 7 working days in an isolated camp 400 kms from home.
