Wifey Wants Her Own Ride.

GHOSTNINJA

Lets do this!
So I figured that time would come. My wife wants her own ride. To be honest, on one had I love the idea, and on the other it scares the $hit out of me and im not sure why. Maybe I understand what took her so long to say ok to me getting one now. She even know what bike she wants, 2012 cbr 250r with the gold trim. Can not complain, I think its a great bike for her, plus I bet I could find a deal on it.

Thoughts, stories, id love to hear them!

I wish mine would get her own so I can follow her around, rather than giving those behind me all the fun when she's riding pillion.

From the first time I took the missus out as pillion on my old Thundercat, she got the itch of getting her own license.

And she did, starting on a little 125 Eliminator whilst learning, then got a GPZ500 after passing the test, and finally an H-D 883 Sportster!

If your wife want's to do it, I say tell her to go for it. It beats having a pillion all the time.

Or is the real reason you are reluctant is that you're afraid she'll ride you into the weeds....! ;)

Or she'll work out and tell you about all your bad riding habits. Then she'll be after a camera and join you on here. Oh, the shame, lol

A CBR will be great! I have to admit riding with your significant other can be stressful because you care so much. Just make sure she has a good foundation and takes it at her own pace.

I agree. Mine has gone back and forth about wanting a bike. (She comes from a biker family) She was reluctant of me getting one because I suffer from a condition call clumsy. But now I'm the only one she will ride pillion on. I think I would be stressed about her riding more so because of everyone else crazy driving ways rather than her ending up in the weeds on her own.

I dont know all that many couples that ride together top of my head i think of 1 and shes the one who got her husband to ride aha.

I rode pillion once, hopefully that was the last time! So frightening on a sport bike, but I have weird issues with other people driving me around. I like to be in control of my vehicle. I personally would rather have my own bike than ride two up.

I wish my boyfriend was interested in bikes :(

I started off on a nice slow little suzuki vanvan 125cc, rode it for 6 months then did my test and got a CBR600 :D I think it worked out great for me. I did sit on a load of bikes before I bought my first one.

Get whatever she feels the most comfortable on and make sure she has good reach of all the controls. My legs were too long for little sporty bikes, not comfortable and not in control! How tall is she?

So been looking for the exact bike she wants. 2012 CBR with gold trim. Found one but they want 3.4 for it. Trying to see what the lowest they will go, that seems high when newer ones cost around 4k. Any idea what I should be looking at for this bike?

I wish my wife would learn how to operate or at least ride with me on my motorcycle :p . If she ever did end up getting a M endorsement though, she'd probably just ride around on a moped ~_~ .

Give in take in life, give and take :p ~

My wife will never ride, or operate something on 2 wheels. Bad things happened early in her life.
Oh well thats what I have kids for haha
