Why Do You Ride?

b9y

Living life, one scotch egg at a time.
For thrills? For the passion?

I'm a passion person myself, plus a little bit of thrill thrown in. Although I've never wheelied (intentionally), don't intend to try going knee-down, I'm just there for the rumble, the views and the freedom.

Yea I think solidarity is a good part of it for me too. Nice to be with me and my thoughts, which usually consists of calling other road users bellends, ha.

Roads - Purely because my mates do. I don't really enjoy the roads that much now. I can see me stopping them soon but not rushing to it.

Tracks - My brain resets, it's like I don't think of anything at all when I'm on them at all

I love it, its good for my metal state lol, its freeing and quietens the mind. Also love the fact that you are alone in your helmet which is why I'm not so keen on Bluetooth head sets, its nice to disconnect and not be contactable for awhile.

Just nothing else like it, you feel different than the rest of traffic on the road, and are able to do things you couldn't in car. I love that, and the adrenaline rush and power whenever I need it. Also the community of riders I run into every day, very friendly, I feel apart of some huge club or family. Not to mention the freedom, feeling the wind rush by you, the unadulterated smells of outside...its just an insatiable desire that I can't stop fulfilling. Can't get enough!

If I'm going to have to travel for the rest of my life I might as well get some enjoyment out of it. That's basically why. :)

PAHA! YES.
Great answers guys. You know there was like a 140 page document released by the Australian government about the psychology of riding? Pretty interesting. We're less stressed apparently, well, apart from when some prick cuts us up.

I ride mostly for the enjoyment factor. The feeling of being on two wheels with no cage around me.
I also use it to get to places. Such as college, work and my girlfriends.
But mostly enjoyment and to meet other bikers

For 10 years I flew light aircraft. What a feeling! $300 an hour put a stop to that. Motorcycling gives me the same thrills and I can do it every day, not 45 mins a month in the air and sitting in the bar the rest of the time complaining I can't afford to fly more
