When to ignore or reply to YT comments

So I guess it was bound to happen at some stage - you start vlogging, then sooner or later you get a comment that you don't agree with.

Do you reply, or ignore the comment (avoid a potential YT war or perhaps potentially feeding the 'trolls')?

Just curious how others tackle this.

(Reference: Comment on my first vlog / road rage here).
 
Well I put my .02c in on the video but usually I wouldnt comment but Hes a tool :)
I usually just delete the comments and block the user. No need for them.
 
My 2c on ya channel, I HATE TROLLS who 'obviously' DONT ride, but are experts? WTF!!

I reckon Navin has NEVER ridden!! These 'Tools' are on the increase. ANY car that thinks a bike is Holding them up, is a REAL WANKER!! Cagers have little fear or concideration for riders nowadays. Ive had people overtake me in MY lane, Navin, you reckon that car was in the right? ovetaking in SAME lane is Deuchbaggery!! And i have NO issue in pullin a car-load over. What they gunna do, bash me, BRING it on, i got HEAPS of stress to vent!! And ALL in self defence lol.
Answers like that Navin, they tend to expose your inexperiences, and bring retort from all riders!!
From an 'almost' 3decade rider!!

If you read his other comments he's a bit of a smart arse, but couldn't help myself from replying.
 
I had only 1 guy so far who was a bit of a shit. i was talking in a vlog about different requirements to get a license in various countries and he didn't like my take on America.(yes i did say it was "easy" in my opinion to get a bike license in America) so replied that Japan and Germany would only make it difficult for Americans because they had won the war.

after a lot of ranting (i did reply to his posts but in a rather polite manner i thought) he just deleted his posts and said he would unsubscribe. I think what made him delete the posts was that other viewers told him he s "full of shit"

People will always Voice his or her Opinion. Youtube is a Forum, thats how it is. I just delete the Links to Websites and phone hack ones on a daily basis. I reply when its a genuine reason to.
 
I say there is no such thing as bad publicity. Sometimes I reply and sometimes I don't but I don't delete comments no matter how stupid they are because it gets people talking and sharing my content. Look at my harley street video, I was way wrong about my bike and bashed harleys and some people were pissed but that video also has the most views on my channel.

Haha! @BikerOnABudget I've been following you I think almost since you started and you're definitely gonna have to have some thick skin when your channel gets bigger cause you certainly don't hide your opinions. That's why I dig your channel!

ABSOLUTELY how it should be!!
An opinion is just that, a 'point of veiw' from the perspective of an individual, wether biast or not, its usually based on information at hand and can be changed with new insight.

Now 'Judgmental' people, Dont get me started... they just WONT see ANY point of veiw...Apart from their own :(

Roaming, as Pete said earlier, ima thinkn ive personally said my bit in the comments (hope not too much lol).
With more people putting their 2c worth in, if anything its getn you more veiws?
As one guy said tho, i aggree with the 'un-edited' version comment. Give em all the facts (follow up vid? full version?)
But hey you cant capture every angle, to give a 'solid' base for comment?

Just keep it to one liners, ive noticed that in a few channels out their. Keeps it from getn to 'Punch+Judy'.
I still think i woulda pulled the grey ute over tho? Glad i wasnt there. :mad:

I always reply and never ignore, I LOVE a good fight, they say the pen is mightier than the sword but those people have never been stabbed with a pen before, it HURTS!
 
most of the time, I respond to comments, but, sometimes, I just ignore them. Not worth arguing because that will take up all of my time...
