.... have had a couple of thumbs down on some vids.... but think one of those was from a mate who I overtook on a trackday when he was on an R6 with track rubber and had use of tyre warmers etc and I was on my lardy Moto Guzzi V7 that I rode there!

Hmm, I got a few depending on the video. Generally I don't get haters because most of my videos are viewed in my own country, but there was a video I did when I dissed a China made knock off of a Koso meter for not working, and Chinese made products in general, and all the PRC nationalists started crawling out of the woodwork to spew nationalistic garbage all over my comments section, which i've kept visible.
Even get a few PMs here and there telling me to go off myself.

I got a guy calling me ungrateful for showing a street that had 99 potholes lmao. They filled it all up in a day or two, but it was hilarius, I even put sonic music while dodging the holes. The guy then proceeds to tell me I should count how many beautiful trees or flowers there are in the city. Ahahhaa like what the hell does that have to do with my video.
That whole nationalistc pseudo patriotic bullshit is why a lot of these countries are shitholes. Cause they all can't just admit that there's shit around which needs to be fixed, or are just unable to laugh at themselves sometimes. Gee some people take it too hard, eh?

Yea, some people just can't differentiate that we are dissing something specific and only that thing. We're not talking about the beautiful landscapes or the history or whatever. We're talking about how shitty roads or motorcycling products are in a particular country, it's not as if we're telling the world the country is hell on earth and should be avoided like the plague.
Generally most people can take it when potshots are taken on their country in general, but boy...I'd get buried if I try that again with either the PRC or USA.

To be honest, I really really don't get it. Yeah if you're dissing how shit the nation is, or how terrible the culture is, or anything along those lines that people might deem offensive... sure... But saying hey, there are tons of potholes and this is actually funny... at the very least youre doing some criticism with a spice of funny.. I've noticed the '3rd world'-er the country is the more people are chauvinistic. If they could only laugh at themselves a little

Some of you guys with ADHD might want to skip this. Sorry it's so long. I'm a story teller. It's why I got into motovlogging in the first place.
I've had multiple death threats. They're mostly on videos where I've done motorcycle demo rides. South Koreans really don't like it when you say negative things about Hyosung motorcycles. They're pieces of crap but the way. None of the Koreans have ever sent death threats though.
There was a guy that rode a Yamaha FZ1. I did a review and said that it was a bit heavy and underpowered compared to some other similar bikes but otherwise a nice bike that just needed to be updated a little. Not long after Yamaha completely eliminated the bike from their product line so maybe I'm not the only one that thought it was a bit outdated. So the guy sends me death threats and I was bored so I went to his channel. I was able to figure out the area he was riding in. In one of his videos his license plate was visible. I was able to determine what county he lived in. Just using Google and the info he had on his Youtube channel I was able to find out his name and where he worked. This took me less than 30 minutes. He worked at a burger place in Tennessee and had a second job at a bowling alley. I called the burger place and asked to speak with him. They said he wasn't there. I asked them to tell him that his old friend Kryten was looking for him. I did the same thing at the bowling alley. Every time I got bored for the next few weeks I would call and ask for him and again tell them to let him know his old pal Kryten was looking for him. Finally one day I called the burger place and they said he quit. A few days after that the bowling alley said the same thing. I decided to go to his channel to see if he had made a video about the crazy guy stalking him and he had closed his YouTube account.
I had another similar situation where a Harley rider got mad about a video I made talking about Harleys. I never even said anything negative about Harleys. I just didn't talk about how awesome they were and he left a comment talking about how Harleys were real bikes and sport bikes were for pussies. I told him to take that brand loyal bullshit somewhere else and then he started sending death threats. He kept saying he knew where I lived and that one day he would be waiting at the end of my street when I least expect it and he was going to put a bullet in my head. Again I never said anything negative about Harleys or Harley riders. I just asked him not to tell all my subs that ride sport bikes that they're pussies because they don't ride the same bike as him. Anyway I was bored again so after a little research I found that his Youtube name matched his twitter and instagram accounts and he had a link to his Facebook account on both platforms. So I did a quick search in public records and was able to find three people with the same name in the area that he lived according to Facebook. A quick Google Maps search and looking at street view and I found a house owned by a man with his name that just happened to have had his Harley parked in the driveway. I sent him some screenshots of his house on Google street view and told him I knew where he lived too and that he better come visit me before I come visit him. I quickly got an apology and a long message about how he was just joking and that he thought if we ever met we would be friends and bunch of crap. What a coward. By the way that video alone paid for both of my bikes and all of my camera gear before I finally took it down and I only had ads on it for half the time it was online. It was worth getting some hate mail. If you want to make money on Youtube talk bad about Harleys. They get so butthurt and they'll spread your video way better than the people that sub and like your videos.
Don't let haters bother you. Most are just idiots with nothing better to do and if they didn't feel anonymous on the internet most wouldn't have the balls to say anything to you at all. But if you get bored like I sometimes do just troll them back. It might just scare them enough to teach them a lesson. I always wonder if the one guy really quit his jobs or if he just told them to tell me that. Either way he had to have known that I knew more about him than he knew about me. I also wonder how long the other guy was looking over his shoulder for the crazy guy on a sport bike waiting to cap his ass. From the apology he sent me it was clear that he was scared. I need to get back into vlogging about bikes I don't like. I've been bored lately.

Ahahaha that story @kryten... This reminds of me a small story back when I had just started riding. So I'm on a red sportbike (small cc though), just practicing around on a street when I see this Harleybro riding the opposite side of the road. I give him the 'yo fellow rider' sign. Idk what exactly he thought I was doing but he was so upset that he figured he should 'accelerate up that bitch' to show me what's what.... idk... So anyways he revs his engine, accelerates then breaks immediately case there's a car driving into the street who has the right of way given how far the biker was. He barely manages to stop before hitting the car.

I work in IT. I have many stories of trolling the trolls. One of my proudest was this one time a guy kept emailing dick pics to my wife. I was able to trace him and find out that he worked for a church in Dallas Texas. I was pretty sure I had the right guy but just to be sure I looked at the staff page for the church's website and saw a picture of him. So I sent an email to several of the people at the church and attached the dick pics. I checked back about a week later and his picture was no longer on the staff page.

There was another one that I was pretty proud of. I used to be the leader of a gaming clan. We had this guy that kept coming onto our practice server using our tag. I explained to him what it meant and asked that he please not use it unless he was accepted into the clan. He started telling me that his brother was the leader. We had been around for years at this point. After several of the guys on the server explained that I was the leader he apologized so we decided to let him apply and join.
We was in the clan for about a month. He rarely ever showed up to practice and kept demanding that we let him play in one of our matches. Reluctantly I let him play in an unimportant match. In the middle of the match he starts shit talking me and then he starts team killing. He ruined the entire match for everyone. It was just a friendly match. There was no ranking involved or anything but we were playing with a clan that we really liked playing with and it was embarrassing and it pissed everyone off so I booted him from the server and banned him from all of our servers. He starts sending me emails talking about how he's going to hack the servers and just being a dick. So I traced his IP address and found out that he was connecting from a dorm at a University. I recorded a ton of data of this kid claiming he was going to launch a denial of service attack and how he had access to a large server farm that would easily be able to take down our servers. I even had some viruses he tried to send us. I forwarded everything to his University and got a response back that he had been banned from accessing the University's network and all computer resources. Never heard from him again.
