What Makes You Unsubscribe?

Wanderer...
I'm curious to know, what makes you, or what reasons have you seen, that cause that unsubscribe button to get hit?

Another thing I'm curious, is how often are people loosing subscribers?

I've only been at this for a couple months now, and I've already been loosing subs. (and I don't have many to loose!) So I'm trying to figure out if this is just the way things are or if I should be doing something different / better.

Personally I almost never unsubscribe. But, I also don't subscribe after just one video either. Usually when I sub to someone I've watched enough of their content that I know I want to see more on a weekly basis. And the few times I have is when they have changed their content or style of delivery.

I subscribe to channels when:
I can learn something
I enjoy listening to their voice
I enjoy the type of content they publish
Sometimes, to try and help a new channel grow

I unsubscribe when:
I stop enjoying their content
Their videos become monotonous/predictable
Their videos become less original and only follows mainstream trends (Supermotos, Groms, 4x4's, dogs, drones etc were all trends that some bigger guys followed)

I subscribe when:
The content is genuine
It isn't rage-centric
There is actual thought put in to each video
Their videos make me laugh or keep me interested

I unsubscribe when:
View and sub whoring become apparent
When more than 2 videos a week start to get pushed out
When their audio is terrible
When their editing is terrible

If you dont post a video in 2-3 months, I unsub,
If your audio and video isnt great... Bye

I sub for good content that makes me feel good

I rarely unsub I just don't watch.

I subbed for a reason maybe it will come back.

I would unsubscribe when the content of the channel no longer interest me, usually if it switches to something entirely different from what I initially subscribed to in the beginning.

It's OK to switch up your content, but if I subbed to you for your motorcycling stuff and then see more non-motorcycling stuff (that does not interest me) than the motorcycling stuff, I would be inclined to drop you off my list.

If you are wondering why you are losing subs, you can check analytics. Usually if there's a big drop in the number, it's most probably YT is doing some maintenance/clean up of closed/banned/etc user accounts.

I recently saw a drop my number and when to check, sure enough there was a bunch of user accounts closed.

I don't "buy" subs or "spam" people to sub, so I'm not so worried about YT doing their cleanup nor people dropping me off, because they subbed on their on free will so they can unsub on their own free will as well, I'm OK with that.

I've lost 3 or 4 subs since over started. Not a lot. I also rarely unsub.

For me I usually go down my sub list and see who I'm not watching or who hasn't put out videos and unsub from those. Rarely I'll get a recommended video that's just not my style that will get me to unsub.

I think i've personally lost quite a few.

Motovlog subscribers tend to be real finnicky and will easily unsub if they can so much as smell you doing something other than pure real-life motorcycling content.

You can't fault them on unsubbing if you label yourself as all about motovlogs motovlogs motovlogs and then start posting videos that are not motovlogs.

Which is why I don't limit myself to any one thing, just about motorcycles and riding in general.

I don't usually go through my list of subs to see who is active or dormant, I just look at the feed I get, if I start to see a lot of videos which are not to my interest in the feed by some channel I'm subbed to, then I will consider removing it to clear up the feed I get. If the non-interest videos are not that frequently posted (not cluttering up my feed), I tend to just let it slide and remained subbed.

I'm curious to know, what makes you, or what reasons have you seen, that cause that unsubscribe button to get hit?

Generally when I subscribe it's because I like the content someone is producing. I unsubscribe for two reasons.

1) The content producer stops producing content in regular intervals. If you're someone I've been watching for a long time I generally give them a longer period of time.

2) The content producer creates content I find offensive.

I have a lot of time to watch YouTube content currently, about to change in September though. I periodically go through my subscribed to list and weed out those whose recent content hasn't interested me enough to watch or they haven't posted for a long time. As a creator, I'd rather my subscriber list reflected those that enjoy my content than those who hadn't bothered to delete me from their list. There are some creators who I just enjoy every video they put out, so if they had a break I'd not delete them unless it was obvious they would no longer be posting.
The UK weather is not great for folk wanting to put out regular stuff, I'm itching to get on the bike but it seems to rain every day I would have the chance to at the moment so I get folk can't maintain a schedule all the time.
If someone's content annoys the hell outta me I'd probs not have subbed in the first place so generally speaking I don't "want" to unsub anyone I follow! :-)

As long it has the drive, the X factor and variation in the video's.
Humor and serious topics.

I don't like it when it al get the same and when it is geting shouting, or clickbait.
