What do you look for in a vlog besides content?

I second the Camera Angle! And also if I may say, a HELMET MOUNT!

The Helmet mount serves twu purposes :-

1) You get to see exactly what the rider is looking at (as he/she turns to look out for a vehicle etc)
2) If you're going slow enough, the audio feed is automatically recorded with the video (if you go too fast wind noise becomes a major factor)

Why I like the audio option is because we (VLOGGERS) can always do a little audio post-processing to remove some noise (using AUDACITY free software, for example) and improve the audio & also ensure its in sync.

I also believe you can use the motorcycle ride as a background completely in itself, and talk/VLOG about something completely different! That's up to you as a person/speaker how you wish to engage your viewers. It just so happens that we have a motorcycle with us, but its not necessarily the only content/topic up for discussion.

Vishnu

Video FX - animations
are fun sometimes but especially don t like them in intros (cause you see the same...everytime you watch the guys vid)

Correct lighting
don t really care, cause we can t really change it on the bike xD night vlogs can be fun (at least here in the city)

Sound FX

Audio correction - popping, hissing, crackling and such
the audio needs to be good enough to listen to a vlog. i ve turned of a lot even from big vloggers cause i can t be bothered listening to popping, hissing, crackling and such
(windnoise depends on the speed, can t do anything really)

Intro/Outro
they are ok, but keep them very short (if they are always the same)
i myself don t exceed 10 sec, but change them almost in every vid

Composition - Jump cuts, transitions
a must for boring shit, you can t put a number on it, wouldn t believe the amount of traffic lights in tokyo!

Audio Quality
same as above

Video Quality - 1440p anyone?
I upload 1080p (but don t bother watching vids that high)
most of the vids i watch, i watch on a phone.

I want to say more about this
First of i like motovlog that you can listen to. that have some interesting content or humor.
then comes the picture. especially if there are long pauses xD and just riding >> which means needs to be out of the city.
the audio is a given. i will turn stuff off with shit audio or breathing noise.
it doesn't take anything to get the audio right. and wind noise over 100km/h or 60 mp/h is acceptable.

I am some what of a newbie. And I want to know what it is you look for in a moto vlog or motoring related video besides the actual content; that is to say that the video's content is what you want.

Here is a list of things to get your creative juices flowing.

Video FX - animations
Correct lighting
Sound FX
Colour correction - contrast, filters and such
Audio correction - popping, hissing, crackling and such
Intro/Outro
Composition - Jump cuts, transitions
Audio Quality
Video Quality - 1440p anyone?

Feel free to add your own ideas and thoughts.

PS I don't actually know what section this post can go into so general it is. You can move it if you want.

Watch SpacePods New Video, He talks about it all.

I'd like to say something to the video you just posted.
of course i am myself a very small fish xD and I see he has a lot of subs and a lot of videos as well.
there are just a few things i would like to mention.

1. think the vid is way to long. i get nervous myself when i go longer than 10 min and don t watch a lot of vids (especially ppl i don t know/first views over 10 min)
2. intro way to long, as mentioned before, if you always use same intro i wouldn't use 30 secs.
3. then he comments on m13 camera angels but half the vid shows him in his suit. guess that falls under "to each his own".
4. I also didn't like the long pauses. but this is very difficult If i may say. because if I watch a vid that i found because of the topic (like in this case) then i want to hear about the topic. The start is not relevant. the long breaks and let me show you... not relevant either.
5. he recommends motovlogger worldwide. they got like 300 likes.

on the other hand, if i know a vlogger (or rather have watched like 10-20 vids) then i can somehow live with this a lot more :)

All valid points. I guess at the end of the day we all take out of various vlogs different things and it all comes down to personal choice.

I will make a few points regarding Spacep0d's vlog and his channel in general.

Spacep0d is a vlogger that has been posting for quite a long time. I have come to see that he is generally regarded as a vlogger that provides a lot of assistance to other vloggers. He is the guy that many of the vloggers get to create their stickers, art etc. I think that is why this video seems to be quite lengthy as it is more of an instructional/information type peice rather than just for entertainment. As I said, your points are valid however I think this vlog falls into a different category rather than your just pure entertainment type vlog.

I like videos showing both the rider and what he/she is looking at, at the same time, in split screen, especially if it is in sync with each other
