What Bike do you ride?

My daily ride is a 2010 BMW R1200GSA. A lot of people say it's too big and only good for running to Starbucks, but it's a wonderful machine on and off road. It's comfortable for long distances and I don't have to worry about damage when I'm in NYC. I had a 2008 R1200RT and owning that in NYC completely took the pleasure out of riding- I was always concerned about it being hit.

My back up bike is a 1999 KLR650. My back up, back up bike is a 1987 BMW K100RT, and my back up, back up, back up bike is a 1972 Honda CB350. The list goes on.

So what bikes do you all ride, and more importantly, why did you choose them? Was it because of the kind of roads you ride, the riding you do, were you influenced by advertising, peer recommendations, moto gp, or did you just go...

ooooh I want that bike, I'd sell my soul to own it :)

I ride a Yamaha YZF-R6. I knew I wanted a sportbike right off the bat because of the aggressiveness and fun you can have with them. I always thought they were cool and finally decided to get one before It was too late. I wasn't too picky about what kind I wanted at the beginning but after much research I decided on the R6 because I like the more aggressive seating position and performance. Although all sportbikes perform very well. It really came down to the feel of sitting on it and the styling/looks of the bike.

Agreed - being comfortable first and looks second outweighs how much torque, etc. the thing can put out. I mean, how many times will you be going from 0 to 150 (mph) in a week's time :o ??? I'd rather sit comfortably and look cool :D (if I can pull it off :p heh)~

02 Ninja 500! my first !

my first bike was a yamaha ybr 125 so it was a big leap to get a honda cbr 600f. I had been looking round for this model for a while as its more a sports tourer and the wife can occasionally go on the back. Found it for sale in London which is 4 hours away from my house. Got it the same day and rode it home. Looking back on it that was a bit silly - riding home in the dark. Didn't get in until 2am - still I love it!

Right now I have a 2002 Suzuki Katana 600, a very comfortable and capable machine but looking to upgrade. I was looking into keeping up the Sport Tourer fad and getting a Honda VFR 800, besides I love the look of the single swing arm and the idea of V-Tech in a bike. Sort of gives it a split personality. (;

20067 ER6N, really enjoying it for it's positioning and fun factor. I want to get a Street Triple eventually but that is a bit out of my price range at the moment!

I have 2 bikes...

Kawasaki Ninja 650cc ER6F A7F (Kermit) - Got this bike coz it was really really good value and A2 compatible.

Honda CBF 125cc M-9 (Little Dippa) - Got this bike coz it was the first learner legal bike I came across, I love him so much that I still have him even after passing my test.

I want a ZX10R once I can redo my test as my current A2 license doesn't let me ride one :( <3 X x

Mk1 Kawasaki Versys 650.

I wanted something big, torquey, chuckable and comfortable enough for touring. This one popped up at the right time, in the right place at about €600 under the right price!

Loving it so far!

SV650. I live in a city with a lot of traffic so I needed a bike with good low-midrange where I would be spending most my time. Also I don't want to attract thieves like a SS can plus extremely low cost of ownership.
