1. Exploration, Nothing I like better than to throw a leg over and point the bike in a direction and see what is over the next hill, and the next and the next...
2. I like the hands on technical nature of motorcycles. With my truck I do the basic maint. and the truck goes. The less I touch it the better, usually. When driving the truck it's autopilot most of the time unless I'm actually out 4wheeling. With the bike the opposite it true. Cleaning and maintaining the bike, lubing the chain frequently, it's very hands on. Also you can't, or at least shouldn't, ever be on autopilot. It's important to stay mindful and keep your skills sharp, in order to negotiate everything from traffic and collision avoidance to carving up an awesome section of twisty road.
3. The feeling of riding, I'm sure we all have our own, for me it's some combination of freedom, excitement, adventure ... the list could go on.
