Hey all,
After much delay, I finally got round to visiting my local Hein Gerricke store to see what they had left on offer. And with much confusion their £500-600 jackets are left at £300.. which is a great saving, but when I factored in the fact that they are closing down for good, their guarantee for quality stands to nothing if I cannot take it back with a problem.
And so it brings me to the main topic of this thread. My jacket which I've worn for years on end, is now leaking like a sieve. I would lurrrve to get a new one exactly the same (Frank Thomas - Cafe Racer) but they don't make it any more. As frugal as I usually am I would bah-humbug most petty expenses, but in situations like this I would happily spend vast amounts of money, to keep my dry and warm in the cold winter days when riding in snow and suchlike.

I might not be blonde but I quite like the look of this Rukka Granite jacket. However, I know nothing about the suitability of this jacket for English weather.
Spidi Venture - I have no experience with Spidi either, it's quite a bit cheaper than Rukka, so I cannot see the difference... however, I wont amused if I'm fooled by paying crap impersonating quality. So I would love feedback.
From what I understand, Rukka will return to being waterproof just by a good wash in the washing-machine. I don't know if that's true of Spidi gear. Or true at all of Rukka come to that.
I would love to hear back from any of you with any other suggestions or experiences regarding the above.
