Watching Motovlogs Within The Forum

This site provides a great platform to develop the motovlogger community.

I was wondering what's best for watching Motovlogs though? Well, more passing comment on them. Why the questiok though?

Obviously watching video here or on YouTube still means the video is served from YouTube itself, and the likes, dislikes and watch later features of the embedded player of back to your YT account, but what about comments?

YT comments obviously have an inpact on your engagement and in doing so, I assume have an impact on your channel on YT. However, commenting on videos linked here improves the community.

Where is best to comment so as we can improve the experience for the actual content provider though? We don't want to detract from motovlog.com, but we would also like to see our fellow vloggers' channels grow.

Food for thought really.

Cheers

I prefer posting to YouTube as it's easier to track the comments/replies and that way they all go into one place.

On the other hand comments on the forum bump the thread so anyone who watches the vlogs posted there have more chance of seeing them. I find a bump on the forum results in tens of views more each time.

Can't really import comments into the thread. I wouldn't either as it's duplicate content etc.

I don't comment on YouTUbe anymore, I hate the way it's all laid out. It does depend on the video to be honest.

I set the video section up so people can categorise videos into different types. I found this has kicked the vlogs section very well. (along with the 5 post rule)

I reckon most people just like the interaction, doesn't matter where

The category type is great, and certainly no point cloning comments between the two.

As an extension to the question, how much does interaction and engagement on YT actually affect your channel?

Lol, duplicate content etc. Such a wag.

If someone watches it on the forum via the embedded player, does it count as a view on YT? Because my views on the thread is a lot more than my view counter in YT.

Of I open a thread and it's just a video with no comment I won't watch the video, so that gives you a thread view but no video view.

I have been thinking about this recently. For me, I appropriate comments and feed back no matter where, however.. I feel that commenting on YouTube may endues more interaction from our viewers. As most of us don't get all our views just on this site. Just like at a school dance, no one wants to be the first people on the floor. Yet as soon as the first couple goes out more people follow. Just my 2 cents.

I like to comment on peoples video posts on the forum because it bumps their threads, but if I really like the vid then I'll go to the respective YT page and hit the "Like" button.

On a side not, I'm honestly hoping that I get a bit more feedback on my videos. I spend so much time on them, but don't really know if they are any good...

Watch em here, if i feel the need to comment, I do so on youtube
If i go on and see a couple of comments on a video , I think the guy is a little more professional than someone just doing it for "fun" ... So i assume others think the same way , Therefore i help them

If I get a comment anywhere I get excited!
I'm exactly the same! No matter where the comment is in happy, not able to post videos here yet but maybe sometime in the future we shall see.

I get very excited when I get a subscriber, jumping up and down is usually involved.
