Just read an article that I think everyone should read and become pretty familiar with, especially if you reside in the U.S. You should take note of the repeated emphasis on not acting like an holier-than-thou asshole when approached as that can be a MAJOR factor in the likelihood of the person with the camera taking a trip to jail.

It's pretty sad that the author felt the need to put that in there. But then there's so many people who think it's a good idea to yell 'fuck the police' at a cop..so it's not really terribly surprising that he included that.

As far as I see it, in the UK I am allowed to film in a public place. Don't see why filming the police doing their job would be any different.

Filming Police in a public place is not illegal, but funnily enough not many policemen know it! There is a clip on youtube that I watched a few weeks ago..... here I found it in my history
