Hi all!
What a day I've had then, had my module 2 today.
I booked the test in confidence after one lesson with my instructor who told me that he can't see anything to work on.
However, while on my test today everything was going fine, had a few minors which were just simple little things (early indictation)
I was on the last set of lights turning left onto the road of the test centre, I was feeling nervous about the outcome, but was happy with my performance. Lights went green, I did my life saver and moved out over the line and towards my turn. Then out of the set of lights to my right (I was at a cross road btw) which were on 'red' a van bolted over the line towards the road I was turning into, he clearly went over on a red light, as he came into my riding line I was forced to brake sharply to avoid me getting side swiped. My sharp breaking caused my examiner to also brake hard. This gave me a serious and we all know what that means.

200 yards from arriving back to the test centre with a pass and a van jumping a red light cause me to break sharp and I failed. ;(
Never been so gutted!

sorry to hear it mate =( just read it out to my folks, they're ranting ^.^

they say that it's grounds for a pass for your good reactions. if the instructor wasn't looking out and didn't see the danger you avoided he should have his license taken away! you should get in touch with the chief examinor of the test centre and ask for your test to be reevaluated.

hope it helps and that all turns out well

Really sorry to hear that mate. Couldn't you say anything to sway the examiner?

Not fair when something like this happens. Not at all.

ASK DVLA WHAT IS THE POINT OF AN EMERGENCY STOP IF WHEN A VAN GOES ACROSS ON RED WHEN YOU HAVE RIGHT OF WAY CAUSING YOU TO DO SAID EMERGENCY STOP TO ONLY FAIL. SURELY IF THAT'S THE CASE WHY HAVE IT IN THE MOD 1? UTTER TWAT, JUST BECAUSE FEWER PEOPLE ARE TAKING UP BIKING EXAMINERS ARE HAVING TO FIND REASONS TO MAKE PEOPLE SIT THE EXAM AGAIN.

SORRY FOR CAPS LOCK I'M ON MY PHONE AND I AM NOW DEDICATED TO THE FULL CAPSLOCK EFFECT.

I did argue that about the emergency stop and that I did that action in favour of my personal safety, but because and I quote "rapidly changing the speed of traffic flow you could of caused a serious accident" I failed :(
Due to me being on 'L' plates that immediately puts me in the wrong. Pretty low and demeaning in my view.
I think I'd rather prove myself right in 10 days times on my next test instead of taking this to DVLA, I just wished I was allowed my camera.

Good luck on the next one, but I'd still put in a complaint with the boss of the place.

Haha thanks, I'll most deffinately be more cautious of vans next time their always a pain for bikers as it is, I'll just not go too far so I don't get given any minors haha
I think I could of done earlier direct with the DVLA but this is with my riding school and no instructors are available till then, I got a cbr waiting outside eager to get going haha

Was it seb at Wolverhampton that happened to fail you? He has been failing a lot of people due to silly controversial things recently. I believe he is being reviewed by the dvla for some of the fails he's been giving as of late. I hope you get someone different next time and I know the light your on about with the train tunnel once you turned left.

Yeah Wolverhampton MPTC, I was to turn left at the lights to go under the bridge then the entrance to industrial estate is the next right.
I had John who failed me for this and Tony for my mod 1 (passed :))
I REALLY hope I don't get Seb next time around then.

that is so fucking annoying and is also what pretty much happened to me when I did mine. More so because it's not just a fail, it's another £100 chucked down the road when you know you did nothing wrong. Uhh examiners should have cameras on their bikes so things can be reviewed if there is any controversy...

on my driving test the examiner yelled and grabbed the steering wheel - apparently not slowing down from 30 for an oncoming truck because you have a fags paper width between the parked cars and your mirrors is frowned upon :(

Nottingham Roadcraft might like this thread, he's just made a MOD2 video.

When your next down there let whoever is in charge at the time know about what happend.

Unless you had a few minors close to a fail & he's just decided to drop this on you because he deemed it safe? I don't know but seems to be a bit of a joke, any other local test centers?

Weirdly though I always found van drivers to be more considerate in pulling over / making an effort to get out of the way to let me pass them when filtering. Maybe I need to become one and go undercover.....

Really sorry to hear about that. However the very best of luck on your next one, at least its not too long to wait.

I'm a Van driver too but I'm within that minority of van/car drivers who actually know the highway code and do look out for fellow bikers. Just remember you still get Bikers who do stupid things too! The examiner also deserves a drop-kick to the face for your trouble - After you've passed your MOD2 of course ;)

Keep your head up buddy! You'll be on that CBR soon enough!

Thanks for all this guys, at least i know for certain I'm not alone on this one haha
I will not let any of you down and please feel free to pop over and 'drop kick' the examiner after I've passed :) should be a good day all in all haha

Anyone got £125 i can borrow for the next time around?
£75 for the test, £50 for a small lesson and to have instructor present.
I do have PayPal :)
