TriumfAnt

It was good while it lasted
So I've seen lots of vlogs which use full or partial songs which are not royalty free. How do people do this?
When first testing my camera I put it in my car. The radio was on and when I tried to upload to YT I got a copyright violation notice due to the songs which the mic picked up. I haven't tried again but I'd like to make some vlogs with appropriate music for the topic. Do people use software like Audacity to alter the pitch and time of the song enough that YT doesn't recognise the tune?
I'm not monetized so I don't intend to profit in any way from this.

Cheers.

I just use the royalty free stuff. I feel it's better for montages and things anyway :D Audiopad, MM MontageMusic and TeknoAxe are good (All on Youtube with download links).

I put up a video of me playing Sweet Child O' Mine on guitar, and Youtube picked it up despite not having the actual track in the video at all, not even drums or vocals. This youtube detector thingy is pretty good at it's job :P

You used to be able to speed up the video .3% in editing to avoid detection, they fixed that so it doesn't work anymore, i haven't found a around it yet. Good news is, they dont care anymore. You get a little notice about it being 3rd party music and they wont let you watch it on mobile. But there is no like, punishment for using it. I think they also force adds on the video. SOME artists have demanded that their stuff specifically be blocked and on those they will mute your audio. but its rare.
