When criticizing things there are always people who take any negativity personally. It always seems to me like those people have doubts themselves but are reluctant to say them out loud and hate when anyone else says them out loud too.

I'm not the biggest fan of videos/reviews that only rip on a bike, or anything else for that matter. Often times there are pro's and cons for any bike - its a friggen explosion machine strapped to two wheels how could there not be pro's. And with your vlog Anthony, you have a full vlog dedicated to the pros of the bike which says a lot about not only how much the bike offers, but how much time you are willing to offer the people. I think what brad really needed was some attention and he didn't know how to ask for it. But he knew you were the person to go to with how generous you were to make two vlogs on one bike.

Welcome to bashing american bikes. Get used to it.

My video bashing the Street and my video bashing the Sportster get me called all of the vile things.

Small peepee americans get really upset when you don't like their bikes because they cling to the value they place on their bikes for their own sense of self worth and validation. They can't separate themselves from their bike.

My V-Rod is a redheaded porn star diva, my Vespa is a banged up metrosexual, my Bonneville is a perfectly adequate motorcycle if you're a retiree named Steven, and we took the G650GS to the race track it would finish about an hour later...

but the minute I point out a fault in someone else's bike, especially if it's an American machine, people's insecurities turn into small peepee rage.

You know, as a man who rode Harleys for over 25 years.....yep, this sounds about right! :p

I venture to say that we American motovloggers do differ from the average white man that is usually straddling a steel horse. Perhaps it is watching of others that opens the mind up to other possible ways such as, oh I don't know, not settling for less than perfect on a bike? I mean, come on, you went from Harley to Honda!

Why that would be grounds of revoking citizenship in some riding circles! But to go from Honda to Harley is seen as though you saved a burning busload of orphans by the same group.

I think @LoneWolfer nailed what happened with this viewer.

I can see the fellow now. Laying in bed looking at his laptop dreaming of riding because he probably lives someplace cold and snowy and could not get the bike out that day. He had clicked through several websites dreaming of Indian motorcycles. With each click and image his love grew fonder and then he found my video and his world came crashing down worse than when the gal in high school turned him down for prom. So he got to typing.

So I don't think it is really a national thing. I am not sure where this commenter lives but odds are it is in either Canada or the US from my stats.

The worst I have seen react to hearing something is flawed were the French riders of American bikes that asked me to share some of my review videos on a certain forum of theirs. They were fine talking about flaws in threads but you would have thought I kicked over one of their mothers from the comments on the videos!

So it is more like when someone really gets invested in a belief, or sports team, or even brand of underwear if they are truly into that. They can moan all they want among fellow fans how their underwear gets all twisted but as soon as someone across the room yells they suck - it is off to the races!

How big is your sample size? I've been doing this online motorcycle content for 14 years, and read thousands of comments on my stuff. There are definitely types that are more quick to get their panties in a bunch.

That is sad that Americans react that way to you, or at least you perceive that is what is happening. My experience interacting with people online and in person has been on a more global level across platforms, mediums, and even subcultures. I can say the impression I get is that being a prick (what internet trolls used to be called when seen in the real world) is not limited to a nation or other geographic area, form of communication, or even culture. Being a prick is a mindset that can transcend many things including reality on some level.

Right, but every car driver has the choice to use his or her signals. Now tell me about the ones in BMWs lol

Signal fluid is in short supply. Has been since the oil embargo of the 70s. Not many know but that stuff is so rare I cannot even order a bottle of signal fluid online.

I think I may go with road flares or shooting roman candles if I run out.
