Trolling the trolls who hide

I will say it now - if you have to hide your plates then either:
A) you should behave better so not to embarrass your parents like that

Or

B) you're just a coward

It is not about style when you purposely hide your tags from public view.

The good thing about those who hide their plates is that I get an early warning to avoid them like the plague. I have much less of a problem with small plates.

In my neck of the woods, no plates usually means they are a bike thief.

Just don’t see the appeal to it tbh.
I understand wanting or needing to be incognito. Pulled off a bank heist, sneaking away from a love affair, cutting a lethal fart in an elevator.

But most of a folks that try to hide their plates are acting out to draw attention to themselves either by inconsiderate riding and/or riding with loud pipes. So being incognito is counterintuitive at that point.

So, what's your thought on people who blur their license plates or speedometers in their videos? Even if say, they're doing 5mph over the limit?

Asking for a friend.

BTW, if you're only referring to removing plates IRL, that's just dumb. I've seen a number of bikes recently that had no plates - and in one case, the rider admitted to not being licensed or even trained... as he got on a major highway in rush-hour traffic.

Blurring on a video does not blur for the people in the real world. At least they can take care of business if needed.

I believe that some people who blur their license plates or speedometer in their videos, do it because at least here in some states, law enforcement can track you down and arrest you at your home, and confiscate your bikes. Especially those guys driving recklessly and going over the speed limit on the highway. Videos of guys racing and going over 160mph are a dime a dozen in YouTube.

Well, I can honestly say I've blurred my speedometer when I'm doing the speed limit, just for fun and the challenge of seeing if I can track it.

Blurring my plate is, well, it's something I've just done since day 1. It's another challenge of tracking and masking, and my wife asked me to do it to try and prevent doxxing.

I don't blur the speedo, but then I tend to stick to the limit, give or take a couple of miles an hour (I don't get my name for nothing....:D).
