To Whine Or Not To Whine?!

SO honestly. How do you feel about Triumphs "whine"? compared to other sports bikes. like or dislike?

It's a very distinctive sound that the 3 cylinder Triumph has, both the Daytona and the Street Triple. Almost borderline whistle. When you hear the exhaust note and turn to look you know its going to be a Triumph riding past.

Personally I prefer the deeper note which accompanies big sports bikes. My Fireblade with the Yoshimura exhaust sounds angry although its not as loud as some bike/exhaust combinations.

interesting i had an r1 before and i understand that loud grumbly noise that we all love but idk if fallen in love with my triumph and i might even dare say more than the r1

The R1 has a very distinctive sound also. But if your at a biker cafe/meet the sound of the Triumph or R1 lets you know what sort of bike you are turning to look at. Any other exhaust note and apart from it been a Harley rumble all other bikes sound much the same.

what about Ducati sportbikes?

I love it, but all of the interesting configurations make similarly interesting noises.

The Aprilia's V4 and Yamaha's Crossplane engines for example.
