To Drivers Who Text:

Its worse than phone calls i think because you have to literally look at the screen.. Either way i dont condone using the phone at all while driving

Yeah man it's so rediculous where I live. For my first motovlag I captured someone texting and driving. I've been recording for over 2 years and I catch them all the time

I hate people who text and drive! I was exiting a 4 way stop and there was a kid who totally ran a stop sign and plowed into me about 3 months after I got my car! I was fuming when I found out he did it while texting

You can fiddle with your phone all you want if it doesn't distract you from the task at hand which is driving and keeping your head on a swivel. Too bad 99.9% of the phone users in vehicles do not posses that skill...

The old Nokias with predictive text meant you could accurately type a short text without ever looking at the phone :)

That is true, alot of people swing from left to right when they are calling or texting... makes me cringe all the time when I'm close to those drivers.

I e caught some cops doing it and the response from the office was that they are trained.... What??? Then why not offer that training to every teenage kid out there... I called BS on it! Heck, one cop was even typing/looking at the mounted computer while swerving Al over the road...

On the other hand, some people can do it while properly paying attention to the road...just like some people can eat a taco while driving. If we wanted distracted driving to stop then we need real penalties in place. You hit someone or cause an accident, 1 year+ in jail depending on the severity of injuries and damage...blow a stop sign or cross the center line 6 months without a license!

All smart phones have the ability to use the accelerometer to freeze the screen upon impact to see what the phone was doing at the time of impact and just before. Just allow it to only be unlocked by the phone company or emergency responders. It's not that hard of an issue to fix but there has to be more than a possible $50 fine if you are caught and if the police feels like pulling you over (if they even see you while their eyes are on their phones).... Just my 2c

I usually honk at these people and get behind them.... however, a lot of them don't give a shit and continue doing it.
