The youtube thumbnail

After I upload a video, youtube offers three thumbnails to choose from. How do I pick something else? I see people with title pages on the thumbnail. My thumbnail selection always looks so boring.

You have to be a YouTube partner to use custom thumbnails.

Oh... but you dont than have to monetize anything do you? Or give them your bank account details or some shit?

The option to load your own thumbnail will show up under the three picked by youtube. I think it appears after you've monetized at least one video as that's all I've done.
