So anyone recommend an insurance company?

Just got my renewal and its like 400 quid (gulp) and a quick search online I get quotes from 140 - silly money. Only problem is the 140 quid one that looks so appealing is underwritten by Equity Red Star and they do not have the best feedback ;)

So anyone with a company that they would recommend?
 
Bikes sure are pretty decent

Equity red star are ok if you're honest with them, if not then they're very aggressive with refusing a payout
 
I have just been shopping around for insurance and have found Swinton to be the cheapest, direct through their website it is a fair bit cheaper than comparison sites. I'm 24, 1 years ncb and only looking at £100 to insure the bike for a year!
 
Hastings have been pretty good for me! Being 22 with 2 years ncb, insurance is only £250 a year plus all the shiny extras (breakdown cover, helmet & leathers etc)

Plus their callcentres are actually helpful!

Yea I was with Hastings and I agree they are good but sadly their cover just shot up in price by 200 quid so rang em up and they dropped it by about 80 quid but still too much so went elsewhere and got cover for 180 but I dropped Pillion, other bike and leathers off the cover. Never had a pillion, never ridden someone else's bike and my gear is worn out anyhow but should last another year.

I'm happy :)
 
I went through H&R. They are a broker based in Elgin. I'm waiting to see what my renewal will be. my insurance is up at the end of april.
 
Insurance is what I have, so if I wreck this bike... My only running bike... I get money to have another bike!! ... And helmet, gloves, boots etc....

If I wrecked it now beyond reasonable repair.. It would be nigh impossible to have a bike for a year or more!!

Ahh ok, thats why I own more than 1 bike so I am still able to ride while I fix the broken one :)
 
Well I WANT to own a few.... But the GS and the still broken CR are it for now... And the CR is never gonna be a road use unit!
 
Well, in those 'other' places round the world, they dont have the luxury of having 3rd party liabilty, included in Registration fees.
So we get a good deal over here, not having to chase around every year or so...:eek:
