Suzuki Warranty?

the bolt rattled out of my chain guard, got tore up in my back tire, bike was 5 moths old with about 5000 miles on it at the time, just curious as to what all had to happen

Well when you tell them they will wana look, im not sure they would cover the tyre though, they will say you should of checked the bike before riding daily

A lot of warranties don't cover incidental damage, but shouting, quoting relevant laws and Twitter can come to your aid.

Chains etc tend to fall under the user being a fool issues, well, that's what they class it as normally. You cannot prove that you haven't done anything to tighten your chain, cleaned it etc.

Did you do it via your dealer? They're normally good at backing people up with that sort of thing. I've never had an issue with warranty stuff, it's normally automated from the dealer unless it sounds to be suss and they'll check it out.

It really depends, a lot of warranties don't cover brake pads and normal wear items. Especially stuff that can be adjusted by the owner. The bolt rattling out...thats an interesting one. Hopefully they trat you well.

i do regular maintence on my bike, oil changes, checking brakes and cleaning and lubing my chain, and this is the second time a bolt fell out, the first was about a
week after i got it back from the shop for the 600 mile oil change the dealer did for me... i went to a different suzuki dealer in town and they said it wasnt a problem and got it covered immediatley, so alot of it was just the dealer, but i do my own inspections now

Id explain that, the dealer who sorted ot should have it on record.

Do you let Suzuki do the scheduled servicing?

That can be a sticking point with some manufacturers, i can see Suzuki wanting it done by at least a registered legitimate mechanic/shop with Suzuki parts to their schedule.

right, i was told by the dealer that as long as i logged the oil changes, that they basicly went by what the owners manual said to do on the other routine maintenece, also the bolts ive had fall out, front fender bolt and one from the chain gaurd, were not put on by suzuki, my bike came in a crate and had to be assembled, since i ordered the bike i wanted instead of getting the show room model and adding on goodies. im not saying that its suzukis fault, the bike is great and feels tight, just screws that needed some loc tite didnt get them, i was more curious as to if anyone else had any problems getting them to warranty parts. it was obviouslt the dealer being an ass because like i said, i went to another dealer and had no problem with them taking care of the warranty replacement, i have gone through the bike myself since all of this has happened, blue locktit on what needs it, thanks for the responses though

See if i was suzuki knowing you built the bike up id be asking to see proof that you are qualified and ok to do this sort of work, and if you didnt turn any up void would be stamped all over the warranty
