Subscription Overload?

I just went though the channels I subscribed to over the years after realizing I didn't frequent most of them. Anyone have that issue, too many subscriptions? I killed off about 20 channels.

A lot of them were channels that weren't even active anymore or didn't fit my interests anymore. I paired it down to a core group and feel like I'll actually watch them more often knowing they are relevant.

I occasionally unsub to clean up. But tbh, it doesn't clutter much for me at all to have excessive subscriptions. I keep up to date with the subscriptions tab on the front page anyway. A dead channel won't be in my way, so I leave them be until I happen to feel like removing stuff someday.

Inactive channels won't show up on your sub/news feed, I don't see the issue with cleaning up those, I would be more concerned with cleaning up channels that are active but no longer posting videos I am interested in, those will tend to spam up the sub/news feed more than an inactive/dormant channel.

I don't think there's any limit to the number of channels you can sub to, so I really don't bother at all with it, unless I'm getting a lot of unwanted videos in my feed then I would think about dropping that channel.

I definitely have sub overload. Way too many subs to ever keep up with all of them. I weed out the less interesting ones every now and then, but mostly I just leave it because I have commitment issues, lol

Once in a while I'll delete a few, but I'm pretty stingy with the sub button so I don't wind up with this problem too often.

I'll unsub from a channel that hasn't uploaded in 12 months (with a few exceptions) or from a channel whose videos I find myself skipping because their content isn't of interest to me anymore.

Just like "following" an artist in the music industry. If they stop making albums/new content, you move on. No different to subscriptions on youtube.

Although I do re-watch youtube videos that I like, put up by vloggers (be it inspiration, cool content, or whatever).
But even those might lose their appeal after a while.....

I don't bother subbing anymore. I just flick through the post your videos these days.

I tend to go the actually YouTube just for geeky videos like techmoan or marketing
