I didnt know the kid by the way, here is a bit of a background. It happened at one of the rest stops in autobahn. This kid was extremely curious about the bike and even tried talking to me in German, which I didnt understand of course. He kept looking at the bike for the entire time I was there so when I was about to leave, I thought I will give him something to remember

Stuff like that goes a long way with kids, and the parents. Not all bikers have a good rep, things like this is great for the image of biking.

Speaking of kids and bikes, my daughter had her first ride on my bike yesterday. She's hopped on and ridden in 20' in to the garage before but this time she put her new lid and jacket on and we went down the road and back a couple of times. Avoided the main road for now.

She absolutely loved it. Completely relaxed, wasn't holding on too tight (probably ny tight enough!). However Mrs Lurch isn't so keen and had been hoping she'd hate it and not want to do it again!

No danger of that too soon. I don't want to put her off, so we'll work up, go a little further each time, work up the speed and cornering to get her used to it without freaking out.

Just started letting my youngest start my bike in the mornings. He was terrified at first but now almost wants to ride with.
