Some Hints And Tips From A Social Media Marketing Assistant.

Hey guys,
Sorry it's been so long since I last had some activity on Motovlog.com, I've started a new job and it's epiiiic :D

I've started working as a social media marketing assistant and as a result I've been on several training courses, I've picked up a range of tips and techniques which I'm implementing to try and drive my YouTube channel (I want to get to around about 1000 subscribers by December 2015)

Firstly I want to talk to you about a simple but effective optimization tool for your YouTube channel.
http://channelyzr.com/
It's free and safe to use, it'll show you how to optimise your videos to make them SEO friendly and to encourage maximum viewer retention. I honestly struggle with the last 3-4% of the optimisation process because I think some of the analytics are bugged BUT I honestly do think that this helps trememdously.

Secondly, a few people do neglect their channel description. All I have is a .txt with a standard set of links and a standard set of tags that I include in every video (which I then customise according to the subject/content of the video)
Here's a template, feel free to use it.

Thirdly, use social media, particularly Twitter as it's much more direct and you it takes little to no effort on the part of other people to retweet your posts.

The trick here is to find out who the influential people are that are following you. Think about the ALS Ice Bucket challenge. That started with 1 single person, if that one person hadn't nominated Benedict Cumberbatch then that campaign wouldn't have gone anywhere. But because of B.Cumberbatch's influence, it went VIRAL.

I can suggest a tool that will help you figure that out, it will help if you're already on Twitter and you have a decent following and you follow a fair few people too.
Google "followerwonk" this site is totally free. use the "Analyze" tab to put your twitter handle in and let it do the rest. It will explain what each analytic means.

If I place my Twitter handle of "VtwinVlogster" in and select "Analyze users they follow" (because I only follow other motovloggers as they are relevant to the purpose of my twitter) then I get some VERY useful data.
The most useful of which is "Social Authority scores of users VtwinVlogster follows" - this shows you who has the most influence out of the people you follow. Thereby you have the greatest chance of promoting your content if you can get these people to help you.
You can also do a search on people who follow you (analyze their followers) these influential people are more likely to help promote you because you've already acquired their attention.

Be careful though. There's a fine line between asking nicely and becoming obnoxious, annoying and eventually blocked.

Hopefully this will help some of you and as I learn more, I'll add to this post with more tools, hints and tips for you :)

Peace, love and light.
