that was part of the reason i went for the osmo too,Coincidentally, the other day I cracked the lens on my DJI Osmo Action ($10 Replacement from Amazon).
I really love the 8 and only ever had issues with the 7. I like that you can swap batteries on the 8 without having to unmount it too.... the lens is an issue though.
I can see why they do this, but it's possible to have a waterproof USB c, so not sure why they don't just do that in a separate door, that allows for charging, mics, well USB c things.Oh that is such a huge pain the in a$$! I get waterproofing and all that but who ever decided to put the SD card in the battery compartment where the whole camera needs to be taken out of the mounting housing to access should win the Bellend of the year award!
will do and yes just waiting on the damn panda mic.Oh nice, let us know what your thoughts are on using the 8 Vs the 7.
Interested to see what is up with G3I can't see any compelling reason to buy the 8 rather than the 7 to be honest.
Just do NOT make the mistake I did and buy a gitup G3.
Video forthcoming to explain - once I get my editing skills on.

I upgraded yo an osmo action from cheap cameras, got a cracking deal on it, it's a phenominal camera, the audio adapter is small and sticks to the side of the camera, less things to try n mount to the helmet.I still use 7 as well And I don't see the reason to change. If I would be buying a new camera now... it would be the osmo action - best value at the moment. All the gimmicks in the newer cameras are... just gimmicks. They won't make your footage better, it's better to focus on your own storytelling skills
