Slight channel adjustment

Riderguide

Neil - The Rider Guider
Hi Team,
Approaching three years old and almost at a 1000 subs.
I'm having a very minimal change to how I brand my channel and wondered if anyone can shed light on if it would affect any algorithm stuff, my YouTube is ticking along after almost three years of building but I'm wondering if it would stop things in it's tracks (algorithm wise) if I adjusted my name under the Customise Channel Tab, Basic Info then channel name & description.

Basically I'm looking at remove THE from my channel name and just calling it Rider Guider as opposed to THE Rider Guider ... removing 'The' makes for a cleaner logo.

Thoughts?

Neil

I don't think it will be an issue, but I'd suggest updating the logo and branding first for a month or so to let your subscribers get used to it, then change the name on YouTube.
I'd also go back through your old vids and update them all to reflect the change too, and do the same on social medias.

If you want to drop the "the" I don't think it will make any difference and you can just do it.

I think Hippo meant updating the video title/description on the older videos, which I don't think is necessary also since you are just dropping "the" word.

Cheers guys - yeh I was just worried it might affect algorithm stuff. I think I'll do what Hippo said initially (maybe) and just adjust the logo on my channel and insta for a few days first.

I could refresh the thumbnails with the new logo YEH. Keep it all nice and in line with the new look. Only 171 videos haha.
